Just last night I watched him in Eye of the Needle.

“Always with the negative waves, Moriarty” in Kelly's Heroes.

Great actor. Drama, comedy or totally screwball, he was up to any part.
RIP.

A truly great talent, for sure. He was often cast as a villain (absolutely great as President Snow in The Hunger Games trilogy) but as already mentioned he was up for any part and did all of them well.

I watched The Eagle Has Landed a few nights ago, where Donald Sutherland had the part of Liam Devlin, an Irish IRA member sympathetic to 1940s Germany because of their fight with England. Not exactly a villain, but close, with a devilish touch of humor. He played the part perfectly in an otherwise somewhat miscast (in my opinion) movie.

R.I.P.

He was great in The Hunger Games. And most everything else he did.

He played a really rotten bad guy in Outbreak . It was filmed near where I lived around Sonoma County and points north in Northern California.

It shouldn't bother me, but his parading around with Hanoi Jane while we were at war soured me on him. I wished actors (singers, football players) kept their political opinions to themselves instead of using their celebrity to influence others.

I support their free speech rights, but it's also my right never to patronize them ever again.

Jane should have been tried for treason, but was not because she was popular.
