Yesterday around 6:00am I was at the Walmart near Oxford. When I came out there was a black rooster wandering around the parking lot foraging for snacks. Since I had a carton of eggs I quickly dashed to my car, I'm afraid of chickens.

Does anyone know the story behind this dangerous animal at Walmart?

He is Ondori ninja. He takes revenge on those who buy and eat chicken and eggs. You were right to be afraid.

You would probably get upset if someone was eating your unborn babies :)

Maybe lost because he couldn't find the road he was supposed to cross?

Reminds me of one particularly memorable Far Side Cartoon. One chicken was in bed, while another approached with a steaming bowl of something or other. Caption?

"It's supposed to be good for you. Besides, it's nobody WE know".

Ghost Chickens In The Sky. What a nice touch. Thanks for that.

All Ya'll are making me feel better about the chicken in the parking lot. Great, and funny, responses.

I had another thought today that the chicken is actually a loss prevention officer in disguise, but since I had paid for my purchases, he let me go.

I can still remember my encounter with a rooster when I was about five years old. I was at Grandma and grandpa’s house and for no reason, other than protecting his turf, the rooster was all over me “like dirty on a shirt”. I’m a big boy now and not afraid of roosters but I do give them their space. They can be mean and I wouldn’t mind giving one a boot if I had another encounter.

Roosters don’t care about your groceries. You have invaded their territory. Anyone who has encountered a rooster as a child knows they are just mean. Thanks to clothes line poles we would be safe until Granny saved us from the mean rooster.

Last time I stopped for groceries the terror of Walmart was strutting around, like he owns the place. My guess is his home is close and his escape won’t last long. But no matter what, Rooster are afraid of nothing. Tread lightly

Too funny! Yes, it is a black rooster with a read top notch. I know my birds. I've been called a lot of things, and I think impaired might have been on the list at some point. I'm up early every day and usually have had my first nap by 6:00. lol.
I live way south so avoiding the mid-day traffic on 301 now days is worth the early trip. Lowes is open at 6:00 also, but that's about it. I'll keep an eye open for you now that you know my secrets.
Speaking of impaired, I think it's time for happy hour. :beer3:
