The very best milk shakes in the nearby area are at Mystic Ice Cream. All made with homemade ice cream and also with a selection of very delicious “adult” ice cream flavors infused with different liquors, such as Amaretto, Kahlua, Baileys Irish Cream, Crème de Cocoa, Rum, etc. Have 3 locations: on 466-A (Miller Drive) in Fruitland Park, west of Spanish Springs on 441 toward 301, and in downtown Leesburg. Second best milk shakes are at Scooples at Brownwood Paddock Square.

Best I have had is at Mystic Ice Cream on 466A. They make their own ice cream and they can make a milkshake or a malted. And malted are hard to find.

I have a hand-scooped, malted milk shake, and bacon cheeseburger, at Johnny Rockets (Lake Sumter) every couple of weeks. Both are very good.

I like the Scooples experience and product, especially the full glass plus extra from the mixer cup when you dine in. I find the Blue Bell ice cream to be above average.

Tried Kelly's at Foxtail Coffee in Magnolia Plaza but was unimpressed. Employee kept adding more milk and overblended resulting in a glass of chocolate milk. Next time, I'll just get a scoop or two of ice cream which will hopefully be more of a treat.
