We’re thinking about driving down to Middleton/school area to check it all out. Is there anything open down there, restaurants and such. Also is it a safe drive - no construction and nails et al on the roads.
Will be our first trek down there.
Thanks

Nothing open yet. The completed residential areas are safe if you stay out of the no trespassing areas.
Sawgrass, Magnolia Plaza, Fenny Grill and Ednas have food south of the Turnpike.

We drive down every couple of weeks. Nothing is open in Eastport. Citizens First is open in Middleton, but that’s it so far. The Sun has updates on opening in Middleton, so far 3 & 4 quarter for few shops or restaurants.

Nothing’s open yet but Boosters should be opening sometime soon. Aug I think. The employees at McGrady’s Pub have already been there to taste the food etc.

If you can, go when they are having open houses. We happened to see some innovative designs on the day we went, not the usual Villages plans.

Just make sure your gas tank is full, take bottled water, lunches in a cooler, granola bars and a compass.

If traveling by cart (or car) you have to drive right pass Sawgrass on your way down (20 minutes from Middleton by cart) and plenty of restaurants there for lunch or dinner. Cart path and tunnels all open all the way,..so are the roads. It’s a fun ride and eye opening!!! Enjoy’

Church@TheSprings will be building a campus right across from the high school. We're worshipping at Ezel until then and everyone is welcome. Services are 8:30, 9:45, & 11:00.

Go to their website. I'm sure there will be open houses this weekend to check out. The homes are very nice! Don't miss the school - get out and walk around the athletics facilities - pool, sports fields, stadium - it is AMAZING!

Yeah, nothing south of 44 except:
Over 19,000 homes
36 holes of Championship Golf
54 holes of Executive Golf
36 holes of Pitch & Putt
36 holes of Putting
9 holes of Disc Golf
Publix, 6 restaurants (stopped counting at 5), 7-11
Miles and miles of recreation trails
3 sports pools
60 pickleball courts
And we ain't seen nothing yet with what's been announced over here!
We're doing just fine over here!

How about a new entertainment and dining center that is a new and exciting design. Coming soon. The south just keeps getting better and better.

I wouldn’t say Sawgrass has “plenty of restaurants”. There’s one true restaurant , plus a couple of very mediocre, and extremely overpriced, food court style options inside the main building.
I like Sawgrass, but the food choices and quality are terrible there.

When there are enough people to support infrastructure they will be built. Until than be prepared to drive some for groceries and restaurants.

I drove around for about an hour thinking I would just blunder on the new developments such as Street of Dreams. A fruitless endeavor. Dirt and road blocks. You would think that with the push to sell Moultrie Creek, etc, the Developer would put up a sign or two.
I headed over to the Sales Center at Sawgrass Grove. They said just put it in your phone, that will work. They gave me an address to input. I followed the phone, although at one point it directed me through a road block that said, "You may be PROSECUTED if you continue." Fully cognizant that there is a prison nearby, I ran the road block! A few miles further I found the Street of Dreams.
In fairness, going back to the Spanish Springs vicinity, I was able to proceed without breaking any laws, but if you start at Sawgrass, you may be PROSECUTED. That's my experience. Oh, was that six months or a year ago? No, it was three days ago.
That said, the visitors at Street of Dreams seemed very excited to be there.
