Ok, so not my idea, my husband is intrigued by the Coleman Electric Golf Carts that run a little under $9,000. Are they allowed in the golf courses in The Villages?

I hear they have almost enough range on a full charge to do a complete circle around Coleman prison.

I cannot completely answer your question but here are some things you can check.
1. The tires, are they turf rated? If not can turf tires be installed?
2. The weight of the vehicle, compare to a typical say Yamaha golf cart, if you find it significantly heavier then you may have a problem.
3. The size of the vehicle, once again compare to a typical golf cart, NOTE wide vehicles are difficult to pass safely on the Morse bridge and some other narrow golf cart paths.
Finally consider maintenance of this vehicle, Yamaha (which appears to be the biggest seller) has lots of ways to have the vehicle serviced, the one you are considering will probably have one source for the near future. Also consider the availability of getting replacement parts, I can get the parts for practically any gas golf cart off Amazon or any of a dozen online parts stores.
Final comment, I have helped many people with problems on golf carts, and off brand carts are the most difficult to service. I have had comments from people that many of the on site service companies will not even come out to look at these.
These are just some items to consider before you buy. If you must have an electric cart, then I would recommend going with a name brand cart.
Hope this helps.

Don’t forget height of cart vs MMP underpasses
And does the cart come with sunbrella enclosure?

Only if the tires are turf rated...which they probably are.

The price of a Chinese EV (without tariffs) is only $11,000:)

Double check the height on those. You could find yourself wedged in the first tunnel you encounter. Also, 40 miles on a recharge isn’t great.

I just viewed on the Walmart website what you are looking to purchase. These carts are also displayed in many of the Walmart tire/ service centers. This type of cart is used for communities outside the villages. It has that very large off-road heavy lug type tires which are extremely noisy on hard surface. Not a Villages type cart for sure.

The carts that I have seen probably are not allowed or should not be allowed. Their tires are designed for off road vehicles

I bought mine from The Villages Golf Carts. Why? Because even if it cost a little bit more, (and I only say that because people have said this on here) I would get service whenever I need it.

The tires on that cart are off road tires, not turf tires at all. Even if you sneak that onto a course, I'm pretty sure you'll be reported very quickly. Those tires will tear up the course in nothing flat, ruining the course for everyone else. We have enough issues keeping the courses in good shape here without adding something like this in the mix.
If you get it you would need to simply swap out tires (around $400) and, as mentioned here, check the height of the cart. Pretty sure it's going to have issues in the shorter tunnels (Saddlebrook is the shortest). Also, I have no idea where you would get service from.
The Evolution D5 Ranger has the same range with the stock battery, comes with turf tires, 4 forward facing seats, a ton of other features and is $9,495. A considerably better cart. The stock cart will have issues with several of the shorter tunnels, but you can have the back part of the roof lowered by 2" and it should then clear all tunnels. Botero Carts of Ocala is fantastic!

Why overcomplicate the golf cart selection?
No one cares if you have a unique cart, just get one of the standard models and customize how it’s decorated.
The Coleman’s are not for a place such as TV - as stated before, the golf courses get beat up with play, no one wants to see off road tires on the fairways, you will get pulled from the course.
Does the price of the Coleman include the rain sunbrella enclosure?

Just Buy it and quit pretending to be your wife...evidently Nancy left her computer signed on..This is not the time to be saving money. After you die, your wife is buying a Yamaha and some nice furniture..

The ones I've seen do not have lithium batteries. That alone is a hard "no" for buying one, even it was far superior in every other way.

So when it breaks in 6 months and you can't get it fixed or get any parts how much did you save?
