Morning all. Does anyone have an old Carrier Thermostat TP-PRH01-B they wish to sell/donate? Our current one is giving us incorrect readings. We want to upgrade to a Smart thermostat when we next come down in a few months time, so just need a "stop-gap" for a couple of months. Thanks

Our Carrier thermostat is 5° off to keep at 75° we set it at 80° no problem. We replaced thermostat once and still off.

This sounds more like an airflow problem in the vicinity of the thermostat. Is it possible that you have cool air flowing directly in the area of the thermostat, this would cause you to need to set it to a higher temperature to get the expected setpoint. I suggest this since the thermostat was already replaced with the same results.

Not near a return vent. Placed analog and digital temp gauge near thermostat both register 75°.
Also lazer confirms the temp on wall at thermostat, room farthest from thermostat is 76° with lazer and thermometers.

Check to see if the humidity control is turned on. If so, and the humidity setting is too low, the thermostat will overcool the house by a few degrees to reduce the humidity. So, if the thermostat is set to 80, the actual temperature will be lower. I always leave the humidity control turned off. But, I don't know if that is your problem.
