In the NWS “hurricane” page, your tab is set to Atlantic. Look up a bit and you will see Pacific ; Eastern and Central. There are a few out there.

As far as why there are none, conditions are not right for formation. If I remember correctly, it has something to do with the winds coming off the coast of Africa. Anyway, google it for a better understanding.

He said the gulf waters are unusually warm and after these 7 days we could have some really extroidinary stuff going on. Because hurricane Debby did NOT hit Florida (it might have - pure luck). It took the moisture with it. Hurricanes equalize temperatures on the Earth and there are a lot of high ocean temperatures YET to be equalized. So, I would wait until Nov. before putting hurricanes in the rear view mirror.
