Visited Blondies, the outdoor bar adjacent to the Sharon for the first and last time this afternoon. Aside from drinks being somewhat overpriced I was unimpressed with other aspects of Blondies.

If sitting at a table I would hate to be caught in a sudden rainstorm. The few umbrellas above the tables would offer very little protection from inclement weather.

My major concern has to do with a total lack of lavatory facilities. In time of need I asked an employee where the restrooms were located. The answer was totally unacceptable as I was told that the only available facility was the public restroom on the far side of the former movie theater. I estimate that the distance between Blondies and that facility is about 1/4 mile. That folks is absurd! How can anyone possibly create a Bar like Blondies without a more rational plan for a restroom facility. As for me this is an intolerable situation, thus I will not return. How can anyone be expected to walk that far without any cover from the elements in time of need. Not me!

At my age and condition anything more than 100 feet could turn into a nasty sithuation. Most of the time I've got plenty of notice, most of the time.

It's an outdoor bar only, no inside seating, no food. It's basically just an extension of the tiki huts in the square. The public bathrooms are less than a block away and are kept clean and in good order. The good lord created humans with minds and creative thinking. One of those humans invented a really nifty thing, some of us call it an umbrella. If you are afraid of melting in the rain, you could probably go to any of the other bars in the Square instead of Blondies. But then you'd have to pass people eating on your way to the bathroom and maybe the smell of shrimp scampi might offend you and be intolerable. Another thing might be to use your own bathroom at home before you leave, and only have one drink while you're there. It's not likely that you'll need to use any bathroom in the vicinity, if you try that.

I'm curious though - what would you do if you were caught in a sudden rainstorm on your way from your vehicle to the bar? Would you find this intolerable and demand valet service and door-to-door chauffeurs to bring you there? Or hm - maybe someone should tarp over the entire district so as to prevent an errant leaf from falling on your silken tresses.

OBB..........hope your day improves.
You're better than this.

Depends

Well yes, I guess Depends are an alternative solution too. I hadn't thought of that. Good idea!
