Trying to "replace" water heater Timer with new (identical) one and very simple to do but am handicapped and can't reach the Timer box to replace.
Would like to try and find electrical guy that won't charge me an arm and leg
as it shouldn't take 15 mins to take Timer down and replace with identical one.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I am an electrical guy, but here is the rub. While I am allowed to make repairs at MY OWN HOUSE I am not allowed to do the same at someone else's house, at least according to my understanding of FL law. You are correct, these are fairly easy to replace. I am hoping there are others that will be able to help.

You can hire an electrician for the fraction of the cost of a twin turbo viper.

I don't understand...How is it that you are unable to help, but others on the forum can help? Please elaborate. Either anyone can, or no one can "according to Florida law".

I just found out recently that items which a 'homeowner' is allowed to replace/repair in their own home are NOT allowed to do the same service for another homeowner. For example, I can replace a bad light switch or outlet, etc., but I cannot do this for a neighbor LEGALLY. As for others, it depends on how far you want to stick your neck out, so for all of the other handyman types out there, they can determine their own level risk they want to accept, and perhaps they have suitable insurance for liability coverage.
I will continue to provide advice based on my years of experience, and the repair of small electronic devices, but items typically requiring a licensed individual I am going to refrain from these projects.

Check your junk email folder (down the list below INBOX).
TOTV stuff seems to always go there. I moved the daily alert to INBOX, but have to check for emails going thru the contact page.

To the parties trying to swap private messages, when you login, you should see a message that you have a new PM, or you can manually check from the top menu. Also, there are options at the bottom of the PM message box where you can get a message that your message has been read.
I completely understand you not wanting to publish your contact info on an open forum, I hope this helps.
