I know there was a thread on this issue in the past. However I am unable to locate the thread. I recently received notification from Progressive indicating my homeowners policy will not be renewed. I'm fairly certain there were numerous responses to the thread, some indicating insurance companies to contact or other options What are some of those companies or options? I know there were suggestions referencing State Farm and seeing if homeowners insurance can be bundled with car insurance. I have State farm and will contact them on the matter. Thanks in advance for any information that can be provided.

I would get a quote from State Farm. I have State Farm auto and Progressive homeowners. When I renewed my homeowners, State Farm gave me a quote for homeowners that was the same as Progressive. I didn't switch at the time because I am not a big fan of bundling.

I’m beginning to go through the same process after my long time insurer (Farmers) dumped us because they are pulling out of Florida. So far I’ve contacted three agencies that get quotes from multiple insurance companies. Every one of them has come back with Tower Hill as the cheapest option, which is still $600 over what I paid Farmers last year. I’m still shopping and hoping to get competitive quotes from better known and higher rated insurers. This is a frustrating and time consuming process, especially considering we had a very expensive brand new roof put on earlier this year. Ergggg ) :

I too have State Farm auto insurance. I was able to bundle it with my new home insurance. You will have to get a Four Point inspection at a cost of $70.00 to you. Someone will come out to inspect your roof, plumbing, water heater, etc.
Our car insurance went down $160 for the yearly policy. Our agent is Connie Weiss on 466.

State Farm gave me a homeowners quote with no inspection. Even with bundling, the State Farm price was the same as Progressive for homeowners insurance. They said that I was saving $600 per year by bundling, but I would been paying the same amount. Make sure you do the math when a company offers you a "discounted" bundle.

Had the same issue with Progressive in February. 2000 sq ft 2003 Camillia went from $3200 to $4600. Villages Insurance got me a policy with Millenial Insurance for $2300. Only difference was hurricane went from $500 deductible to 2% which mostly standard. Will see what next year brings?

The odds of having an insured loss other than a hurricane are pretty slim. Most have never made an HO claim in their lives.
In order to save plenty of money, take a 2% deductible on the entire policy versus the $500 deductible most end up with.
The primary purpose of HO insurance is to protect against catastrophic losses, not small theft claims. The 2% deductible is the way to go.
If you have valuable jewelry, musical equipment etc, get a a specific floater policy to cover those items.

Called State Farm 6 months ago. They will not insure houses over 20+/- years old(do not remember exact time). Have a current claim with Tower Hill. Price is good and service good also(so far0

Have a current claim with Tower Hill, so far they have been good and responsive. Have a relative who is an attorney in the biz and he told me that they treat claims fairly.

Live in a neighborhood with about 100 homes. Know of 3 lightning related claims, one of which caused over 200k in damages over last 2 years. We do live in the lightning capital of the US.

Try allstate
I contacted an Allstate Agency. They gave me a quote from Tower Hill that was significantly cheaper than Allstate.

I also just called State Farm. They are not insuring houses that were built before 2020.

I was able to get insurance from KIN with a 16 year old roof, after passing an inspection.
