Right off the bat: they are factory set to go up to 25mph, so they're Street Legal and you'd have to get them registered and insured, and the driver would be required to have a valid driver's license.

You wouldn't be allowed to drive them on an actual golf course or on the MMPs. They would be a transportation vehicle only. If you want to be able to drive them on a golf course or MMP, you'd have to get it converted from an LSV to a golf cart. At that point, you will have spent enough money to warrant just buying a Yamaha golf cart.

I did see one of these down near McGrady's...4-forward seating. Headquarters are in St. Petersburg. A lot of choices now coming out for 105ah lithium carts and at almost reasonable prices.

You can't easily adjust the speed controller on a Yamaha electric. I had to swap the original Toyota with a Navitas controller. I can adjust speed and torque via bluetooth with my smartphone.

At least right now, the Evolution D5 is a much better choice. There are two dealers in the area, so you have local service and support. If you buy a cart from a dealer in St. Petersburg, you'll be waiting days for service - if they'll even drive this far. Botero Carts of Ocala has a mobile service truck, so 95% of issues can be handled very quickly.

Price is about the same as the Denago. The Denago has several features I like, but is missing features I like on the Evolution. I also think the Evolution is a much better looking cart, and the seats are far more comfortable. The biggest issue I see is that they only offer a 105ah battery. That gives you 25-30 miles max... not nearly enough for The Villages. I have a 205ah battery and can drive from end to end in The Villages, play 18, and still have enough battery left to feel comfortable.

Agreed...I just don't think 105ah is enough...I think TVGC would agree with that and is mostly why they don't sell the Yamaha lithium cart that only offers a 105ah battery. Plus, you are stuck at a top speed of 19.5 MPH unless you put larger diameter wheels on the back which requires a lift kit.

Not a Villages "golf cart" for sure. Looks too tall for many of the tunnels. Those tires are illegal on any golf course here or anywhere as far as that goes. This looks like it is best suited for many of the small towns around the country that allow golf carts on their streets.
We visit Winter Garden sometimes and see lots of this type of "street carts" running around.
Buy one and have fun off the course. Good luck with service when you will need it.

The top speed on these carts can easily be changed in the controller. All you need is the right cable and software. I have them for the Evolution, should be easy to find for other brands (I see them listed for Icon, Yamaha, etc).

You'll most likely never see a sodium battery - it will be far too large and heavy for a golf cart (that is the current limitation for sodium - size and weight for the same output). Evolution uses LifeP04, which is currently the safest lithium battery built. The Denago also uses LifeP04.

The Evolution D5 Ranger currently lists for $9,495, and the larger battery is a $2K upgrade. Ends up about $10K less than a new fully configured Yamaha.

I don't know about the wisdom of buying one but the presence of these lesser-priced carts such as at Wal-Mart are having an effect. I've heard several commercials by The Villages Golf Cars dissing their quality.

Sodium batteries are still smaller and lighter than lead-acid and don't have the dendrite issue that lithium has. They can be discharged and stored at 0% and not be injured. This will ensure longevity and won't be freight Hazmat. I think Sodium Ion is the future of NEV/cart/factory forklift type applications.

It would likely cost well over $1000 to make that cart TV friendly where it can fit underneath every tunnel and have turf tires that are allowed on the golf courses. Likely some customization would be required to be able to mount golf bags on the back.

The advertised range of 40 miles would seem very limiting to own in TV. Would be better off for most people in TV to buy a used 5 year old Yamaha cart for less than the price of one of those.
