I'm almost ready for the 22,500 mile service on my 2020 Hyundai Tuscon. I will not go back to Jenkins. Can anyone recommend an honest, reputable garage? TIA.

Firestone in Oxford or Michael's Automotive in Fruitland Park.

Sumter Tire is a good shop, but, if you are having expensive work done, compare prices with other shops.

I agree with the above recommendations BUT if the car warranty requires this to be done by a DEALER this may not work, and I cannot recommend a dealer.

I have never seen a car warranty that requires a dealer to perform regular maintenance. It is not a requirement.

Google the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act.

The last time I went there a month ago, I felt cheated. They charged me $200 to recharge my AC, when I told them in advance that it did not need a charge. I wanted them to verify that it needed a new AC compressor and to give me a price. Instead, they told me that the AC was working fine and it didn't need anything. That was total hogwash, because I already knew the AC was not working. I took the vehicle to Michael's Automotive, who diagnosed a defective conpressor in 5 minutes, gave me a price, and replaced it the next day. Apparently, Wildwood Tire just didn't want to repair my vehicle.

Dealers do not have to be the one to preform normal warranty service checks.
I had my Lexus routine service checks done at a reputable independent shop. They are able to look up the factory recommended services, and document the work in the industry standard web service that records vehicle records.
Now if you want free warranty work done under warranty, the dealer is your only choice.

For simple work, like oil change and tire rotation and balance, Walmart on 441 in Summerfield. Steer clear of the Walmart auto shop in Oxford.

Not the OP but my issue with Jenkins is their inability to be honest. While finishing up the paperwork on my recent Genesis purchase, the finance guy tried to sell me a warranty for wheel damage stating the cost of a single wheel replacement was $1300 each. I promptly did an internet search and found an entire set of OEM wheels was $1400. I promptly told him he just lost his dealership the sale with his lie. Needless to say the GM stepped in with mass concessions to save the sale but I made it clear that one more lie and I'm walking.

I don't think I have ever visited a new car dealership that didn't tell lies.

What's your issue with Jenkins?

Speaking from experience, Jenkins VW is an overpriced, upsell rip off. Told me I needed new tires when 10,000 miles later I still don't. Expect the usual upsell overpriced sales pitches for air filter replacement, cabin filter replacement, battery, sunroof rail lube, many DIY projects for a fraction of the cost. Also, vehicle sales price at Jenkins Hyundai were much higher, especially after undisclosed fees during negotiation, than places like Holler Hyundai.

Sounds like something happened at Jenkins! Is it because everything is going up in price so they have to raise they’re prices to make money, go figure!

Jenkins Hyundai in Ocala always wants to do thousands of dollars of maintenance when I go in for an oil change. I tried Jenkins Hyundai in Fruitland Park and they were much less annoying.

That should be a complementary scheduled maintenance on a Hyundai, so why would you go anyplace other then a dealership and pay money for what you could get for free? Definitely go to Hyundai of Central Florida in Claremont! They are great! The Jenkins Jokers, not so much!

Read your warranty.....if you do not use a Hyundai dealership and get the service intervals on time, you jeopardize the warranty on your vehicle. Hyundai is very strict about this. They do NOT advertise that part about their vehicles.

I have a problem with Jenkins with them telling me I need around $800 worth of services every time I go when I only need oil change. Oil change generally takes two hours even with a 8 o’clock appt because they say they have to check everything else out. I can get free oil changes there but because of the hassles I pay Wildwood Tire to do it. In and out in 1/2 hour.

You do not need to have maintenance work done by a dealer to maintain your Hyundai warranty. It is true that you could "jeopardize" the warranty if it is not properly maintained, but it does not need to be maintained by a dealer. From Hyundai:

"You are allowed to service your vehicle yourself if you have the training. It won’t void the vehicle warranty. But you should log each service, including the mileage, type of service and products used."

It would be illegal to require that a vehicle be serviced by a dealer.

If it is like our Toyota SUV there is not much to do except full synthetic oil change and rotate the tires. That should run under $100.00.

When I was shopping for my Tuscon I went to Jenkins in Leesburg and got an extremely aggressive hard sell. Then I went to Hyndai of Central Florida in Clermont they were much nicer and offered me a significantly lower price, so I bought my Tuscon from them. They gave me free regular maintenance for 3 years or 36,000 miles whichever came first, so I got my regular maintenance done there and they seemed to do a good job. It's been over 3 years so I'll have to pay for my next routine maintenance but I'll go back. My Hyundai runs perfectly.

I would really follow up on free oil changes. In pass (not in Florida) some dealers didn’t change oil, most people don’t keep vehicle 3 years or know if they did it or done it right. Always wise to follow up on any routine work at dealerships or anywhere else make sure getting want stated free or paid for. I highly doubt is was free anyway? Somewhere there was charge to cover it IMO.

Jenkins also ripped me off.

Every time I brought new vehicle I had felling I got ripped off. IMO they won’t trade if they don’t get what they want.
