…..for their vehicle that has to get left outside? If so, what brand did you buy and would you have bought a different brand? TIA.

Seal skin is the one I like and bought after a lot of research. I did this up north, and while the cover was great, it did damage to the paint at the corners of the car due to the wind, having this problem I chose to not try a cover here as we seem to have a lot more wind than what I had up North.

I had a neighbor who covered his car and claimed he got mold so he said never again. Mold a problem?

Interesting, with the high humidity, I could easily see a "waterproof" car cover trapping humidity inside with the car, then if you get a breathable type cover the rains, we get will probably penetrate the cover. If I was going to do this, I might go with a cover that just covers the roof and windows, but the ones a saw looked like a pain to install and remove.

Car covers are great, if you have the car stored indoors.

Outside? Not so much.

I could not see much of a benefit from a car cover down here unless it somehow reduced the heat load inside the car so when you drive it during the day it’s not starting out at 100+ degrees vs. being inside a garage. I doubt you will increase the value of the car over time so just let it sit out baking in the sun, IMO.

I used a car cover in central California for over 30 years. Never had any of the mentioned issues. I always bought a higher end product cut specifically for the make and model. I parked my car outside at work in 100+ degree weather. Was able to leave the sun roof opened slightly with our any fear of rain entering and the interior was 20-25 degrees cooler. Calcarcovers.com makes a product I highly recommend.

I'd just put up a carport instead.

Last time I used a car cover outside I had some critter eat some wires under the hood, plus the wind we have here was hard on the cover and car.

Similarly, I covered a motorhome for a season and opened it up to a box of mold.

I bought a decent cover up north and only covered my car when snow or ice was forecasted. I didn't like having it covered every day. Here I use the garage and gave the cover to one of my sons.

Nothing says I hate a nice looking neighborhood like a car cover in the driveway. So aesthetically appealing.

I use a breathable car cover in the garage keeps the dust off it considering I only use the car very little and it’s always clean
