I have allergies. Have had issues with itchy eyes and such. Always use eye drops.

Then, out of the blue, I see a short video on the “Net”. Topic was eyelashes and how to keep them clean. Bottom line, wash the eyelids and lashes. Apparently they can be a home to dust, allergens, and worse- mites. Oh crap!

Afterward, every other shower I “wash” my lids and lashes. I really never did as I disliked soap in the eyes or even water.
But I close them tight and now wash.

I was very surprised that my itchy eyes abated to almost nothing. Used to rub them at night sometimes, no more!

Hope this helps others.

I have allergies that affect my eyes as well. My ophthalmologist recommended Avenova eyelid and eyelash cleanser which I use once a day. I also apply a warm damp cloth over my closed eyes for at least 10 minutes then use a clean washcloth to brush my eyelashes free of detritus to deal with blepharitis. My vision is much better.

My eye doctor recommended using baby shampoo every night to wash my eyelids & lashes.

As a retired optometrist I used to recommend using a q tip and a non tear baby shampoo for your eyelashes. Glad it helps.
