Does anyone have the name of a reclining sofa repair person? It is out of warranty and the company is no longer in business. I have contacted several furniture stores, but they will not give me any names to call. Assuming, they are hoping we will buy a new sofa.

Just a quick google search shows Mills Furniture Repair in Ocala, serving TV. Website says they repair recliners. Just remember that depending on the mechanism and labor cost, it can easily be cheaper to buy another one. A few years ago I went from the same you had to a single recliner for that very reason. Now it's just a sofa and I have my own recliner.

I imagine it’s spring or cable broken, If you’re able look underneath and have name of manufacture 1 in 100 change you can find part? Most time you have to measure length of spring or cable and find one in general spring section big box stores or select size cable and buy some cable wedges and make one to fit?

If you find a broken part, you can usually order it on Amazon.

Agree. Unless you paid a fortune for it, and are willing to probably pay another small fortune to fix it, or that recliner sofa has a built-in popcorn maker (etc), suggest you consider buying two new recliners.

Mine is not suppose to have a popcorn maker, but every time I pull it out to clean it, I find a lot of popcorn. Go figure.

I’m not the OP, but I have a CityFurniture recliner that needs a spring replaced. It would be the spring that pulls the foot rest down into place. Do you know someone who could repair it?

You can order a spring on Amazon and replace it yourself. Very easy.

I see in another post that you can order the spring, I am sure I can install it, send me a PM if you are interested.

I know that you are simply asking for help finding a repair person. However, it never hurts to give a description of the defect you are experiencing and any background, such as symptoms prior to failure, type of recliner, when failure occurred

It all makes a difference. Electrical control or manual. Broken part or functional loss of some part.

Recliners really are not that complicated. If electrical control, you have power input, controller module, wires, connectors, actuators and some sort of hand control.

What is not working can hint as to what is the problem and may help responders help you.

We have a power recliner that the recliner switch no longer works on, my husband watched a you tube and tried re-inserting all the connections. Is there something else we can try? Thanks so much.

I have seen switches fail several times, so the least expensive possible fix is to buy a replacement switch assembly and try that. The next possibility is the actual motor assembly has failed, either the motor or the internal limit switches.
I assume you know the brand of the recliner, so do a search of that brand and the word "parts", then look for matching switches, these are typically in the $20 range, the motor units typically run in the $100 range and the search should be on the actual part number shown on the motor unit.
Send me a PM and we can discuss over the phone if you need additional help.
