Hello TOTV Members, Casandra with Pike's Electric here.
Hope you all are doing well and getting prepared for the approaching Hurricane Milton.
This storm is sure to bring different conditions than what we recently experienced with Hurricane Helene.
We are here for you for any electrical needs you may have post-storm.
A few pointers to keep in mind: When it comes to heavy rain/flooding/saturation that exterior outlets/exterior low voltage lighting, fountains, or any decor that is plugged in, etc. can cause GFCI circuits/GFCI outlets to remain tripped and will not reset until they have had time to dry out. It is suggested to unplug these items if possible (which will be the best way to prevent surge damage) and secure anything you can indoors due to heavy rains and winds. Please note: Give these circuits time to dry out as the weather passes, then attempt to reset GFCIs once we have had dry weather.
Also - Your sensitive electronics (TVs and computers) my best advice is to UNPLUG these items prior to the weather starting to amp up. This is the best way to prevent surge damage to these items due to surges/nearby lightning, etc.
Any tripped breakers should be turned OFF, then back ON if tripped, when power is restored. If you have trouble with this I can help you via phone when our office is reopened.
I will be back in the office to help you Friday (if nothing changes). Here for you as always :posting:
We greatly appreciate your support and business. Be safe!
- Casandra

Pike's Electric and Cassandra specifically are the epitome of involved sponsors, community-members, and solid citizens. Obviously the extra business doesn't hurt, but the primary participation is community assistance within their expertise. This is how you build and why you have a reputable business. Thank you!
