Has anyone's Lanai screen ever ripped from a storm like this one?

Has anyone's Lanai screen ever ripped from a storm like this one?

One whole screen panel was just ripped off my lanai and now blowing in the wind. No idea how that could have happened -- I would think the screen would rip first, but the whole frame detached, as shown in my security camera. I'm out of town, so nothing I can do right now.

My screen door in our courtyard was ripped open by the son of a gun wind. Broke the hinge. Cripes

Picture from a friend up near Tampa (not in the Villages) so yes it can happen.

Wow, never heard of this, but how old is the house? If less than a year I would be in contact with home warranty to see if this is covered. If over a year, I would still call home warranty to get the name of the installer and then contact them to see if they would repair. This sounds like the screws were too short. When we had renovations done at our house, I noticed the screws were at least 1 to 1.5 inches into the concrete.

I read this great hint on using a zip tie to hold the screen door closed (at the handle) as the locks suck. Glad I did, as I heard a lot of people lost screened doors. Hopefully you can repair yourself? Good luck!!

I have been told that screening lasts maybe 7 to 10 years, and this has been my experience especially for roof panels, vertical panels seem to last a little longer.

My mistake. It appeared to be one of the fixed screen frames on the security camera, but it turned out to be the adjacent screen door. Not sure how that happened, I had it latched and locked pretty securely.
