Sorry I can't help but we have the same style fence. Maybe someone knows and responds as I'd like the info too for potential future use.

Isn't that The Villages responsibility? They don't require people repair the wooden fences or do they?

Note sure who you contacted, call property management and get the correct info, and double check your documents when you bought the house, if the fence is your responsibility, it should be stated there. There is a large company (Fence Outlet??) that may be able to match the fence and install. You might also contact the CDD where you live and see who is responsible for the fence.

So as I posted we are responsible for the damage of the fence and repair, of a tree not on our property fell on it. At least this metal fence is still being used on view CYV and wall view lots.
The Problem is TV property management WILL NOT tell me any information on:
What company installed
Who to contact for replacement
Or
Who makes the fence.
When I asked over phone and in person “we are not allowed to give any references or the company that Installed.”You need to do your own research.
So my hope is someone in the new area will notice the company installing this fence.
Other wise I will be spinning wheels finding a company.
Example, you a home that has that vinyl fence, and it’s discontinued, say the brown color. You must find you same fence somewhere, or find a company to paint the fence to match the exact color.
There is a neighborhood that has this problem right now. Brown vinyl discontinued. Fence the length of over 20 houses.

I'll reiterate what I stated earlier, be very careful where you buy in The Villages. You can be on the hook for many things.:cus:

Probably going to have measure and find replacement panels. Also determine if aluminum or steal?

One would hope, but NO, I have spoken to two different TV property management in house, and two different people who have come to the site. I was given the color Bronze, and that’s it. I have researched every Fence Company within 50 miles. Nothing close.
Ya know if it’s still being installed it’s available, I just need to ferret out the company that is installing, or making the fence to purchase.
On a worse experience friend and their neighbors have that not so lovely Brown vinyl fence, that the wind blew over in multiple homes, it’s discontinued, and they are Not allowed to replace with white, but must paint if needed. Their fence is about 10 years old. That’s really going to be a problem, painting a vinyl fence

It’s our 4th house in TV. Fence replacement was your responsibility in 2010, so nothing has changed, in 14 years, except in 2010-2014 you were given the name of a company to get a replacement and install. So easy phone call. Now hearding cats would be easier

Since you have had no luck dealing with the Villages representatives so far, let them know that you will be replacing this with some (insert ugly vinyl) fence of your choice, and if they have any concerns they can discuss with your lawyer. OK I am being a smart A$$, my point is you need to get their attention. You could also go to the design center and make enough noise that they actually will pay attention. IMHO, I would put up rope between the broken pieces, and when someone complains, send THEM to the villages representative. This is absolutely ridiculous.
Now that I have vented, contact your local CDD representative, and explain your situation that you need this information the get MATCHING fencing, they should be able to help.

Actually my warped sense of humor went farther than you. Because there is a 10 foot drop, tomorrow going to use all my rope tying skills.
I just got a PM from someone across their pond, that fences are being installed this week. Going to give me a heads up on arrival. Then I will hopefully get some answers from the box, or guys might give me a name.

Great. Take some photos of the box showing brand, part #, etc and post please.

When living in Texas we replaced our entire yard fencing. There were two parts of the job actually. We bought the fencing directly from Aluminum Fences Direct out of Raleigh, NC and they were great to work with. Then we brought in some general contractor to actually install it. Aluminum Fences has a large variety of fence styles and colors. Some that look exactly like your fence. You can by a panel or a yard full from them and tie right into what you have. There may be some more local suppliers that can be found on the Internet, but it may be worth looking at the job as two parts and you get the fence separately yourself then get a local general to replace it. Versus looking for a 'full service' turnkey supplier. Just a thought and hope this helps some.

Just google fence companies, it's a black aluminum fence, super easy to find.

No support from TV for these folks is unacceptable. Storm impacted live oak fell on their property from TV preserve. They build homes up against these areas, cash owners checks quickly, then fall silent when help is needed!

The Villages replaced a similar fence on Meggison that was damaged not long ago. It was not around any homes. Have no idea what hit the section. No trees near the cart path.

It’s Bronze, and no it’s not easy. There is a company out of GA that could be it. However it has to be the same manufacturer. Can’t replace with a likeness. Without manufacturer, model number. It’s NOT that easy. Sent pictures to 18 different sites, each came back with not ours, Bronze is not a color we use.

I thought that if a tree from your property falls on a neighbors fence, your insurance pays the damages. If I'm right, although I'm probably not, the tree fell from the preserve which is Villages property. Therefore, wouldn't their insurance cover it?
Otherwise, I would think any metal fence installer could find the same style somewhere. Worst case is a metal fabricator could take some measurements and fabricate a custom panel. That would cost a bit more for sure but it should match. Good luck.

Do best that you can. Only visible from your yard & the preserves. Document your attempts w/Villages. Sounds like too much hassle for whom you spoke with. Buy black & spray bronze?

OP, I see that you have tried a lot of fence suppliers, in case you missed 1 or 2, try a Google maps search using 'fence suppliers', if you zoom out there are lots of suppliers. Next take several pictures with a ruler or 2 the show the various dimensions of the existing fence, and a closeup that shows the color. With any luck you can send these to the various companies for a suitable replacement.
My final act of desperation would be to contact a lawyer and see if it would be possible to send a registered letter (or similar) to the developer indicating that their complete unwillingness to provide suitable information for a matching replacement will be taken as THEIR acceptance of you getting something SIMILAR, and any further replacement would be at their expense. While this may not be enforceable it just might get their attention.

Ultimately this will come down to your local ARC approving whatever fence you install. Having a record that you did the best you could with no help from The Villages might be important when they say you should have matched exactly. I do hope you have a written record, or recorded conversation of your failure to be informed of the original manufacturer/installer.
Perhaps a lovely archway or gate in that space which would differ from the original but be architecturally interesting might pass muster. I don't know if you can go to the ARC for ideas that might fly other than an exact match.

Since they will not provide a supplier (and actually I understand why they will not), try asking them to supply the specifications for the fence. Seems that they should be willing, and perhaps responsible, to give this info to ensure that the correct type of fence goes in.

Are there NO markings on any of that fence? Something stamped into the metal, maybe on the bottom rail? I find it odd that a manufacturer, even of commodities, doesn't mark their goods in some way.

The fence is actually aluminum. It appears to be 48" high two rail flat top panels. Any reputable fence company should be able to match your current panels and posts. BTW I owned a fence company for 8 yrs in NE Fla if you have any questions PM me.

Try the Villages warranty website search option. Product Search - The Villages Residential Construction and Home Warranty : The Villages Residential Construction and Home Warranty (https://www.thevillageshomewarranty.com/product-search/)
Enter your villages ID and the search will pull up everything about your home. Mine includes the paint color of our wall which we are partially responsible for.

I’m confused. A tree from the preserve (which the developer designated - may or may not own now, but did originally) falls on your fence (according to purchase contract somewhere), and the preserve owner is not responsible for the repair. That doesn’t make sense to me and is concerning because there are palms around my house - part of the pond landscaping on developer property. By this logic, a palm could fall on our home and we’d be stuck with the bills. I’d be inclined to fix the fence and sue the developer in small claims court.

My opinion for what it is worth. Everyone that you would contact about this is overwhelmed by the hurricane. Typical leave a message and we will get back to you. Not speaking about anyone in particular BUT we called the villages and they were helpful. You have to call.......... We left a message with ............ never got a call back so we drove over and got help. What to do. As someone else said it may not even be your responsibility. We all resort of phone and e-mail. REGISTERED RETURN RECEIPT is proof the responsible people have been notified. Should someone get hurt you have proof they have been notified.
