...between "Forum New Posts" and "Today's Posts"?
I get exactly the same posts showing with each.

Today’s Posts include every thread that has had activity in the last 24 hours. Because I am writing this now, this thread will show up in Today’s Posts until about 8am Friday.
Forum New Posts is a list of threads that have had activity since the last time you looked at them or marked them as read. Because you are reading this now, this thread will no longer show up under Forum New Posts until someone else adds to it.
