We have a metal frame bed. We now have a hybrid mattress, that doesn't require a frame, so we want to move the side bars up about 12". This involves drilling 4 holes for each end of the side rails. For a total of 16 holes all in a precise location, so mattress will be level, The 16 holes are thru a round metal bed post. This may be beyond my skill level. Can anyone help or recommend a craftsmen capable?

Any handyman with common tools, skills, and knowledge should be able to measure and drill the soft metal steel bed frames/posts using center punch to start drill bit especially on surfaces rounded.

Does this need to be done on site (in your bedroom), or can the bed frame be disassembled and brought to another location?
