"The Walk".....A time to celebrate & acknowledge cancer survivors, remember loved ones lost to cancer, & fight back against a disease that takes so much.
Last years ceremony, held at TV High School track, had nearly 80 Relay For Life Teams registered. At a Relay For Life meeting last week there were 11 teams. The lack of sponsors support, the lack of teams registered, and the lack of promoting this once solemn fund raiser is shocking. This event was was heralded as the 2nd largest fund raiser in the state of FL only to be outdone by the City of Naples. So what's happened? Has cancer been conquered? Of course not.
If you are a survivor and want to participate in "The Walk" don't believe for one minute you're forgotten. It's sad the developer has though. "The Walk" will happen. It may occur outside TV or even at the clock at LSL or SS.
