My wife and I just finished the new series A Man on the Inside with Ted Danson on Netflix. Stop what you're doing and go watch this. It's just eight episodes, each about half an hour, so it's not a major commitment. It starts a little silly (with Ted is in his usual fine form) but just gets better and better right up to the end. Since you are "of an age" to be living here in The Villages, you will see people you know and maybe even yourself in this series. Highly, highly recommended.

Thanks for this. I just heard about it from someone I was talking with today. She liked it, too. I think we will get started on it tonight.

I never had Netflix until a year and a half ago. So I've been binging to catch up on all the Netflix stuff people have talked about for years. I started watching "Lost" just before Halloween a month ago. I'm starting Season 5 tomorrow.
Previously finished the Lincoln Lawyer and Designated Survivor.
I don't watch normal TV, just Netflix and Amazon Prime Video. While some folks are watching The View or Fox & Friends - I'm Netflixing :)
I loved Ted Danson in The Good Place - looking forward to this new one just as soon as I finish season 6 of Lost (probably next week).

Funny, we just finished watching the series tonight, and I was planning to post tomorrow.
LOVED the series. only half-hour episodes - perfect. And 8 episodes - perfect.
It actually started kind of slow for us, but we continued with episode 2...then got really involved and I the end we loved it all.
Not truly Danson fans, but he was GREAT as were all the other characters. Writing was crisp and intriguing.
LOVED the last episode how it all came together and the ending... that there will be season 2.
Highly recommended a watch - so worth the time.

OBB, that’s a good plan. I also have given up on the “news” and watch escape stuff.
Netflix “Nobody Wants This” is an entertaining Rom-Com. After lots of hideous dates, she finally meets a great guy, but he is a rabbi, a hot rabbi, and she is a shiksa and then — all those complications. There will be a Season 2. There better be.

Sounds OK but I do not subscribe to Netflix having canceled it a few years ago.

Well, I bet you would like Paramount so you could watch ““Landman.”
Billy Bob Thornton is so good in “Landman” and with the re-up of “Yellowstone” I am rooting for Beth Dutton to get revenge on her stupid, evil brother. Been watching a lot of people wearing cowboy hats lately. Ranchers and Oil. Big money stuff with lots of drama.

Have all the episodes of Landman dropped, or are they coming out weekly? I never watch until I can binge. That said, I am watching Yellowstone weekly..... <g> I waited long enough for its return. Beth Dutton is my spirit animal.

I'll second Landman, my wife and I started it last night and watched 3 episodes before turning it off for the night. It starts fast and then goes into overdrive.
I've never tried Yellowstone, but I loved its prequel 1883.

Look for an upcoming Montana based spinoff from Taylor Sheridan called The Madison about New Yorkers moving to Montana. Michelle Pfiefer stars
Everything Taylor Sheridan writes is genius. 1883 is my favorite.
Here (https://people.com/tv/yellowstone-spinoff-series-everything-to-know/) is a guide to all Yellowstone spinoffs.

Yellowstone Season 5 part 2 is on CMT Sundays.
Landman is on Paramount+ (with All Taylor Sheridan series). Sunday was episode 3.
Yellowstone series prior seasons is currently “owned” by Peacock TV.

This is funny. You’re watching all the “Netflix” things…. Lost is an ABC show…. Designated Survivor was also on ABC. Lincoln Lawyer is actually a Netflix show. You should branch out and get MGM+ for a month and binge the show called From if you like Lost. It’s even better, similar with the same producer and director attached. It’s the best show on right now.

Its so confusing figuring out what is showing where. A site called Justwatch.com (https://www.justwatch.com/) has it all figured out. Search for a show and it will tell you if its streaming, pay per view and which streaming channel.

What I love about streaming is the flexibility. I usually pick up Netflix in the summer for a few months. I drop YouTube TV…catch up on Netflix, Max…whatever is looking interesting

I highly, highly recommend it also. And I have only seen the 1st 2 episodes. It seems to appeal to the older, retired generation.

Writing, acting, directing, producing, creating..... with so many irons in the fire, it's a wonder that he has time to sleep.

Designated Survivor is on my list for the near future - the previews look good and the premise. I watch a lot of Sci/Fi . Black Mirror is very good and each episode is a completely new story, which is nice. Black Sails is excellent, but I did NOT like the very last, ending episode. That happens with a lot of shows - they fail to stick the landing. The latest DUNE movie was very good. I have watched 2 seasons of Altered Carbon and that was excellent. There is a German film titled "DARK" that was very interesting, but hard to follow the many characters and the time traveling. It was so complicated that I had to take notes. I would NOT recommend it for most people, although it was well liked by the critics. Man on the Inside was a perfect LIGHT movie to balance out my many Sci/Fi movies.

1883 was my favorite, too. When the piano had to be left behind at the river crossing and she sat down and played “Moonlight Sonata” one last time, it made me cry. .”Moonlight Sonata” always makes me tear up anyway because it is so beautiful.
I was surprised to learn there were so many German immigrants going west. I thought they all stopped in Cincinnati and started raising pigs and making beer.
1883 made me think more than the others, about a lot of things, including wondering if those of us whose ancestors headed west, way west, are made of tougher stuff than those of us whose ancestors stopped at Ohio. :)

We binge-watched it last week. I ordinarily do not like films of this genre (prefer drama/mystery instead) and have never been a fan of Ted Danson - but this one was really entertaining.

I’m watching both ‘Man on the Inside’ and ‘Landman’. The first I was up to the middle of episode 6 and my hubby saw a few minutes of it and immediately told me to stop watching it so he could catch up!
The second, had a very good scene where Thornton was explaining to a young woman about what it costs to install a windmill. Priceless.

We binge-watched it last night. (Thanksgiving is not at our house.)
Intended to watch just a couple of episodes but got involved in the storyline which had a balance of the funny and the sad things about aging.
I liked it. And! There was GLORIA. :) Had not seen her in a while.

You should check out FROM on MGM+ there are 3 season out now and a 4th is coming next year. Very good show.

Speaking of television, don’t forget the Thanksgiving classic.
“Turkeys Away”
WKRP, Season 1, Episode 7, on Apple TV. Probably on YouTube, too. (1978)

I worked in Hollywood and my mom was in assisted living in CA. I thought this was pretty close to the truth. Kate Snow's grandfather lived in my mom's facility and had a girlfriend. They loved to dance. They would have the same conversation every time they got together. My mom, who had dementia, would say "If I heard that story once, I heard it a hundred times.". Even with dementia, my mom was good at trivia and loved bingo. There were people who never had visitors, things were stolen and some caregivers really do care. I thought it was right on.
