I have some questions on fishing:

1. We have company coming and they would like to go fishing, so can out of state visitors fish locally (lake Griffin, Mount Dora, etc.) without a license? I found several links to fishing in the chain of lakes and lake Harris.
2. If we decide to go to the gulf for fishing, does anyone have a suggestion for a good experience, last time we did this I was very disappointed? After some discussion and a review of prices this option is out.
3. Any other suggestions for a fishing trip, 3 people, 2 FL residents, 1 visitor. No need to answer unless you have additional information related to #1.
4. I am assuming I can go to the Sumter County office in Pinellas Plaza for licenses, and idea of the cost for the 3 people above? I found the site with the licensing info, so I know what I need to do.
5. Any other comments or cautions, I would really like to stay local as this would maximize time on the water and minimize driving time.

There are at least 3 fishing clubs (boat owners, deep sea, and freshwater) who could probably answer your questions.

This was in the paper recently: The Villages Freshwater Fishing Club is going on two fishing trips, Dec. 13 and 21, to some of Florida’s most popular spots for catching bass and a chance for anglers to fellowship. | In Today's Daily Sun | The Villages Daily Sun | thevillagesdailysun.com (https://www.thevillagesdailysun.com/news/in_todays_daily_sun/the-villages-freshwater-fishing-club-is-going-on-two-fishing-trips-dec-13-and-21/article_dcd6205e-b5ea-11ef-a743-f76a3390ff93.html)

I ordered my license on line. Print it out at home. You definitely need one to fish Harris Chain. I believe there is an option for a weeklong license for vacationers.
