We just moved to Soulliere Villas in the northern end and are having difficulty identifying the previous owner's internet setup. The villa had Spectrum, Direct TV and Xfinity. Can somebody recommend someone that can come out to check all of the coax cables that are coming into the villa?

I would start with your current internet provider.
Or Galaxy Home Solutions does a lot of work in the Villages.

The easiest way to do this is get a 50 ohm terminating resistor, and place it on one of the cables (room end), then go to the garage with an ohmmeter and see which cable shows 50 ohms, then tag the cable with the room name. Repeat for each room, I had to do this at my house since the builder did not label any of the wires.
NOTE, you can also use a small jumper and short the cable at the room end, and then look for a reading of very close to 0 ohms.

Thanks for that Tink,
Just so I am clear: with resistor or shorting, I’m connecting between copper center wire and outside case/nut and measuring resistance across same at other end? Never knew this.

Galaxy is a rip-off. They overcharge.

Yes, you are correct, and you will connect the ohmmeter the same way. Send me a PM if you need help, we can discuss over the phone.

If you are trying to figure out which coax cable is what, get this little guy from Amazon. It is very useful for this purpose:
THE CIMPLE CO Coaxial (Coax) Pocket Continuity Tester (Tracer) with Voltage Toner (Sound) and Barrel Connector Bundle, for Testing, Labeling, and Identifying coaxial Lines - Pocket Toner

Hmm, nice device. So the threaded devices wouldn’t work. But for tracing terminated connections it looks pretty great.

Your original post did not mention that some of the cables are not terminated, it is relatively easy to strip about 1 inch of the outer covering, and then 1/2 inch of the inner insulator, this will leave you with the inner copper conductor, and the typically aluminum foil outer conductor. Then apply a short circuit (a small jumper) between these and go to the garage and repeat the above procedure and connect you meter to look for a short circuit, and mark the room that cable goes to. On a side note, i have used the inexpensive gold screw on connectors with suitable results, but everytime Comcast comes to the house they immediately state that is the problem, it has always been THEIR equipment, outside the house.
