Hello everyone,
My wife and I are moving to Shady Brook in two weeks and I would appreciate recommendations for a company/handyman that can help with ceiling fan installation and mounting TVs to wall. I normally would do this myself but I already have too much on my plate. I am only interested in people that you have had good experiences with.
Thanks!

Call David Wilt, DMW Home Services at 352-470-7917. I have used him 5 or 6 times and never hesitate to recommend him. Should you get his voicemail, just leave a message and he will get back to you within a couple of days.

Call, Dave Wilt. Over the last 8- or 9-years, Dave has done multiple jobs for Mary and I and our friends. Always done right and the
cleanup is excellent. Call 352-470-7917.

For ceiling fan installation, I would suggest calling Dan's Fans to get the name of their electrical subcontractor. They have an electrician who installs their fans, but he also will install your fan. He has a list of fixed price small electrical jobs. He is very reasonable and can install a ceiling fan in less than 5 minutes. He can probably beat a handyman price.

We used Dan 352-643-1071. We moved here in July and was referred to him by another villager. He lives in the villages also. He put up all our fans, installed a shower door, utility room cabinets, and hung a huge flat screen in our bedroom. Did a fantastic job. Recommended him to a few people and they also love his work.

A couple words of caution, if you are installing the fan in an NEW location you need a licensed electrician to run the NEW wiring. If you are installing in place of a can light the typical mounting for a light is NOT rated for the weight of a fan. You may be able to remove the light and install an OLD WORK fan bracket (Lowes or Home Depot) that can hold 75 to 150 pounds depending on how it is installed.
I agree with the recommendation for the TV install, with the additional note that if the wires are to be hidden in the wall there are restrictions on how this is done, personally I have used the surface mount (120vac rated) and painted to match the wall.
Welcome to the villages hope you enjoy your new home.

Several Dave Wilt fans on here. I can't say the same. He's difficult to reach - you may not hear back to a VM or text for a week. Then, you'll have to schedule out several weeks, most likely.
I used him recently for a few hours of punch list type work and you'd reasonably expect top-tier execution for the exorbitant rate of $75 p/hr but, I can only give the quality of the work a B or B-.

I know what you mean. I have two brand new still in the wrapper softball bats that are rated OK to use in softball league here at The Villages. I’m trying to sell them for 50% off the manufacture price that I paid not one person has contacted me. I would love to be able to figure out how to put it on Facebook marketplace.
