Does anybody know about landscaping restrictions in the villages regarding
types & size of privacey hedges. We have been looking at some very nice
homes with the exception of privacey...we would like to know what we
can and can't do particularly to our lanai area
Any help is always appreciated

Each Village and district has rules on landscaping. You also need architectural approval for it.

You can get your deed restrictions at this site.

I believe if you hedge your entire yard, it must be kept at four feet. (Of course there are different "rules" for new Villages versus older ones). However if you're just doing some privacy planting in the lanai area, you can plant something that grows much taller. Lagustrom is thick and often used for privacy.

I've heard the 4 foot rule, but I've seen MANY far higher, I don't see that enforced very well. However.. that's the rule and anything can happen.
