Yep. I remember this post well, and yes it did identify these locations in Eastport and Middleton (do you remember how quick they took that data down!), and yes it was the catalyst for me delving deeper to get the facts on what't going in, and yes, I even mentioned these locations in previous videos, but, it was only in the last 2 weeks that I was about to dig up/find any clear evidence on what was going in that I would definitively say "yes, this is going to be a Publix".

Yes, very good news indeed! Great to see Publix is being aggressive and starting now. The Magnolia Plaza store is almost always very busy.
Amazing how far ahead they plan. Eastport is looking great as the exteriors are taking shape.
How do you think this will impact timing for the the Middletown lot?

The stared clearing the grocery store lot a few weeks ago in Middleton and haven't moved much farther since. Perhaps a few months behind Publix.
In Middleton I would suspect a lower price point grocery store, most likely a Walmart Neighborhood Market as they have a good and long business relationship with WM and the footprint is similar to the Colony location. But this is pure speculation on my part as information on this location is even more difficult to find than the Eastport location - basically I have nothing on it yet beyond an educated guess. We shall see what comes...

What surprised me the most when comparing Walmart to Publix and Winn-Dixie was that for the items I mostly purchased, Walmart was more expensive when I looked at the entire total.
The BOGOs at both W-D and Publix easily made my grocery bill each week less than buying similar goods at Walmart. Convenience also helped.
And don't forget Aldi's.
I do the family grocery shopping and cooking. We also eat out a lot. We make a weekly menu and meal plan after looking at the ads each week.
We also hit Sam's, BJ's, Whole Foods, and Trader Joe's every month or two.
Your wallet will benefit once you get to know what value each store provides.
Fresh Market, Save-On, and Sprouts rarely see us, but we check them out every few months to be sure.
Bottom line, good to see another Publix. The Magnolia Plaza and Lake Deaton locations get the bulk of our visits.
That reminds me...Publix did not do the original design of the Magnolia Plaza location. And it's smaller than the Lake Deaton and other locations in The Villages. I believe Earth Fare was to be the original tenant. The one up near Spanish Springs opened for a short time before going bust.

“The same old thing” works quite well for most ….
You can always travel to Ocala, Gainesville or Orlando to shop if you want “something different “ LOL !!!

For the people who live in the north end, we can get to Orlando or Ocala faster than if we took a cart to these new areas and TV is still called The Villages.
