Landscaping renovation project

I'm in the process of re-doing the landscaping of our home in the Villages. I'm hoping to find some suggestions on companies to use that will do a great job at a fair price. My goal is to have one company to do all tasks.

Also want to mention that I'm aware of getting ARC approval. That will be done for sure.

A list of things looking to do.

curbing removal
rock removal
shrub removal

plants/trees added
new sod added
retaining walls for landscaping enclosures added
island added
paver patio and walk path added

irrigation updated with new landscaping

What ever you do get arc approval, make sure you read and understand utilities easements and property easement and lines. Been all sorts of horror story contractors/owners not getting arc approval, ignoring easements boundaries, or not doing what was approved.

AMEN to the previous comment, several years ago I had a landscaping company do most of what the OP is looking for, I found out weeks AFTER the work was completed that ARC paperwork was never completed or approved. I got lucky, and was able to do it retroactively, but from then on, I send in the ARC application and no work is started until I see the approved document.
As for a recommendation I cannot provide any.

I’m actually surprised that the ARC would accept a request from a contractor even if the request is on behalf of a bonafide resident.

I used Village Palms for a complete redo of landscaping after a pool install.
I would say they were okay, not great, and I wouldn’t run back to use them again.

As far as irrigation…..If you are taking a spot where grass was and putting in a planting bed - make sure to move that irrigation to its own zone - new bushes need different watering than grass.

They do. It actually makes it very convenient as these companies have done it on numerous occasions, so they know the process. They submit the plans, drawings and list of plants to be used in the design. All requirements to get the approval. They also understand what can be done and what cannot. This save time and eliminates rejected projects.

We used Jason Schmidt and are very happy with the quality of the work.

When i had contractors submit for me, I made sure to check the ARC agenda for my work and download the approval from the web site.

Thanks for the info about Villages Palms and the tip on the irrigation. I will keep that in mind.
