Nope they all go through a desensitizing training. Use the word Sweetie, Smile without gritting your teeth, keep a safe distance, and remember your boyfriend at home is Hot, but the old guys tip well. If they don’t pass the word, as they leave. Old guys are far more creepy than younger clientele.

I DON’T KNOW WHETHER THEY’RE GONNA FIND DECENT YOUNG LADIES IN THIS NEIGHBORHOOD TO RUN AROUND HALF NAKED. I JUST DON’T BELIEVE THEY’RE PUTTING A HOOTERS WHEN THERE ARE MANY OTHER BETTER RESTAURANTS THEY COULD PUT.

It has been a while since I've visited one but the wings, fries, burgers, and fish sandwiches have always been good. (except for that one place with bad fries but it was towards closing so I suspect they had been sitting around a while).
I will definitely be going for the wings and fries.

WHY would they build a Hooters in a retirement community with old men to stare & drool over young servers? Creepy & Gross.
Easy answer: Because they believe they will make money.
Who knows what went into determining that. Perhaps the absence of a well known sports bar led them to believe the name alone would draw customers. Perhaps they feel the demographic that is currently moving into the area will remember enjoying the food like I do. Given the cost of opening and running the business, there must have been something that makes them believe this location will be profitable. We'll see in a year or so if they were correct.

A new business does marketing and demographic research before choosing a location. I used to sell such demographic data to companies. I'm guessing the data they used includes The Villages as well as surrounding communities.

IDK if you guys have been paying attention but there's A LOT of apartments going up all around the villages for singles and young families. There's also a lot of workers from the commercial areas east of TV in Leesburg so a short ride up 44 for dinner and a beer after work definitely is something I would have done in my younger days. Add in all us "creepy" old guys and I think they'll do fine. Personally, I'm glad to see more dining options coming in and around TV. I'm also looking forward to Harry and the Natives at Lake Okahumpka.

BUT most of them tip good! “Creepy and Gross” might be a bit of a stretch. The Villages is like no other retirement community and Leesburg, wildwood and other Lake County communities are not that far on SR 44. Don’t forget Middleton either.

I have seen several comments about why would Hooters build in TV? I am sure they have done the study to show they can get employees and customers in this location. Lake Deaton Plaza is on the outer edge of TV and just up the road from Leesburg, this is probably why that location was picked?

I hate to hear (or read) people accused of being "Creepy." That is such a quickly thrown out comment but it paints the accused with a broad brush of being a sexual predator without evidence and that paint is a long-lasting stain.
It is usually women that so cavalierly like to reference someone as "creepy" but it is extremely damaging. It is no different than if a girl called some other girl a s(ut in high school. Damaging to the reputation without evidence and no way to remedy. Does one call a woman a "s(ut" as easily as one calls men "creepy?"
There is a group of people that like to do the same thing with terms like "nazi," "racist," and "Fascist." Uncalled for, unjustified, inaccurate, and reeks of hysterics.
If someone calls someone else "Creepy" I am usually knee-jerk thinking that the name caller is not entirely mentally balanced and overly paranoid and sensitive. I usually keep all future encounters with said name caller at arms-distance for fear of being labeled whatever comes to the name-caller's mind based on nearly nothing.

The assertion that this is strictly limited to a place like hooters is disingenuous.
Additionally, there is a difference between an individual acting in a cringe-worthy manor (which happens everywhere...be honest), and painting anyone who walks through the door of a particular restaurant as creepy.

I don't know what other term you're talking about but on the whole, bright, young women are not looking at crusty old men for a sugar daddy. If a young woman comes on to an older man it is almost, in every event, because she has her eye on his money and she's lazy. But at least in those instances it keeps the pharmacies busy selling those blue pills.:duck:

You're right, most of us walking through the door of restaurants are not creepy. Those walking into Hooters are NOTgoing in for the food. Probably the second most offensive area for women is offices with older managers.

Years ago there was a Hooters in my neighborhood. It was after I got divorced and they had a great wing deal on Tuesday nights. I forget exactly, but might have been all you can eat. The wings were good, the beer was cold, and the last thing I gave a crap about was the girls. They were more covered up than most other restaurants. They appear to be wearing shorts, but their legs are covered with skin colored leggings. Quite frankly, the girls at the location I went to were not anything to look at.
So yeah, I went for the food.

I've seen more skin in some of the night spots where I have lived than I've seen at Hooters. You'll see far, far more revealing clothing at a swimming pool. I've eaten at Hooters maybe 4 times and the food was pretty good, for fried food. What do you expect at such an establishment, Pheasant under glass? It's a fried food restaurant just like all the others. Two of the times I ate there were with coworkers from my job, and we went there because our boss, a female, liked the food.

I have 3 daughters. When they were little, I used to take them to the local Hooters to watch football/hockey games all the time.
The servers fawned over them and no one around acted inappropriately...
They loved the wings and our server would always come by with a damp napkin to wipe them down when we were done. BBQ sauce from ear to ear and sticky hands/and fingers...
We never saw anyone acting "creepy"...

I worked across the street at a thrift shop in Palm Harbor from a Hooters. My boss said the ladies that worked there were friendly. I was out being a soccer uncle for the older kids so to speak while my sister -in-law ran the shop and took care of her baby. My sister-in-law rented the shop.

This is straight from the Hooters website.
“ Sometimes you hit on a big idea by accident—just by putting the stuff you love all in one place. Craveable food, cold beer, and all the sports you could possibly watch on wall-to-wall big screen TVs. And let’s not forget the Hooters Girls. It all seems so simple, we can’t believe nobody else ever thought of it.”
The restaurant’s founding focus was and always has been on testosterone: sports, food, beer and hot girls.

Does the villages still send out those yearly resident surveys they used to do? They asked questions about what shopping, food or bar establishments, and grocery stores people would like to see come to the villages. I always requested Hooters, The Tilted Kilt, Top Shooters, and even Twin Peaks brand restaurants. I'm sure I left out another one!:pepper2:

Oh, I agree with you. There are creepy old men in this world. Just as there are crazy old cat ladies. Still, I don't go around labeling people as creepy simply due to their choice in dining establishment. I mean, it's not even a strip club, much less a swingers party, right? I prefer older well kept ladies. Better chance they’ll show up for their shift.
Just so they can move fast. The best wings are the ones that are eaten as soon as they are cooked. Wings do not age well.

If you take the time to read through all the posts, no where did I indicate all men walking through the doors of those restaurants are creepy. SOME, maybe quite a few, are. Yeah, there are crazy, old cat ladies too, no argument. Just think the argument that all men walking into those restaurants are saintly is a bit silly. But look at the bright side, they been recommended as a nice family restaurant for the kiddies so no foul, no harm.:clap2:
Nope, someone else did that (below). I simply stated how judgmental and damaging it was to so broadly paint so many with such stain with neither evidence nor discretion.
WHY would they build a Hooters in a retirement community with old men to stare & drool over young servers? Creepy & Gross.

What a sad world that would be
What is sad is this thread, with the same old stale jokes and assumptions of the morality and alcoholism of the anticipated clientele...

Very funny, I'm not biting. I don't owe any apologies for the behavior of some of the men being outlined.
Yes, was in one of those restaurants many years ago and never went back to any of them. You are welcome to take your children, grandchildren and wife to one everyday if you wish. They are not everyones cup of tea and if one doesn't think there are creepy old men in this world, one needs to get out more.

We all need more banks and Walgreens in TV!...And more diabetes shops like Dunkin! This Hooter's thing that nobody but creepy gross men want should be banned. I am going to start a petition!

If one has had the opportunity to eat at Boosters, their waitstaff are in their 20’s. Tips are far and above other establishments ( according to some waitstaff) because they are good at their job. No gimmicks, bunch of TVs, decent bar food, and bartenders. So if one bar/grill can hire great waitstaff, then maybe other new establishments can find great waitstaff.

Hooter’s is building on a major road, it just happens to run through The Villages. They are looking for customers, probably couldn’t care less if they are Villagers or not. So get over yourselves !

Excellent chicken wings, and usually very good waitresses with good attitudes.

Like puppies at a dog park, bringing your cute grandkids to Hooter's will bring attention from pretty young waitresses :)

And I would guess that Hooter's will not have any ladies over a certain age? I would not bet on it here in the Villages. I have met some incredibly attractive retirees here in the Villages since 2005.
