Great character and actor doing great job. Will probably wait for a few more episodes to drop so we can watch nightly.

Has the writing improved? I attempted to watch some of the first season and the main character was ambushing "bad guys", shooting some from behind, and moments later being all friendly with local law enforcement who never questioned anything he did, no investigation, nothing. Was just too unrealistic for me.

I did read the book that Season 3 is based on but did that a long time ago.

It is not a realistic take on anything.

I watched the first season but couldn't follow the plot. I gave up on it altogether.

I enjoyed season one, although the acting was mediocre. Season two was a little worse, acting wise. I love the books and I'll jump into season three soon but I'm hoping the dialogue and delivery are better...

It can't be any worse than the Reacher novels have been, since Joe Finder & then Andrew Grant started to do all the writing.
I watched one episode of the 1st season and it was like watching a cartoon.

I watched the first episode of Season 3. I still cannot understand the plot. This is a lousy show and not worth worth watchiing. My opinion.

If you read the books and understand the nature of Reacher it makes more sense. It is a fun show to watch.

I watch one season, never read the books, I did see Tom Cruise movie version. Ok I'll somehow will take the premise that he has no place to live and spend most of his time hitchhiking, but I have to ask the question does this guy ever smile. This would be the last person I would want to talk to at a party. Besides looking like he hates everyone in the world, with the no place to live I would assume he does not bath every day.

If you think the episodes are unrealistic, you should read the books. Clicking the safety off his Glock. Snub nosed .38 special wouldn't penetrate his leather jacket and thick muscles. Beretta wouldn't function because the rounds had been in the magazine too long. Those of us with military or law enforcement get a kick out of the inaccuracies. I keep reading them, though.

I've read every book and short story. Reacher should be shown operating alone. The addition of these ex-military sidekicks has ruined it. You can be sure that if this series lasts 10 season- these side kicks will be in every season, which means the writers will have to depart from the books they claim the serie is based on. The acting and plot progession is cartoonish. If you think the episodes are unrealistic, you should read the books. Clicking the safety off his Glock. First three episodes out on Amazon Prime. Pretty good so far.
Season Two brought in Reacher’s old team, but that’s unusual in the novel. In most of the novels, Reacher stumbles across a crime and deals with it, then law enforcement of some sort helps out, he has an affair with someone, and he deals with the bad guys. It’s the standard formula for Childs, and it sells. That’s what happens here. I’m enjoying it. Reacher’s a good guy.

As a former MP, I worked a couple of times with the CID and found them to be a bit more intelligent than Reacher. Once was nailing crooked ARVIN’s and once with escaped GI’s from the stockade on a back path to Thailand. Very interesting unit. My best bud was WIA twice on a couple of investigations against Charles so it was a little dangerous at times for those guys. Reacher is escape entertainment in my opinion.

I was hoping it was going to improve but it's more of the same. I'll watch it if there's nothing else on but it's one of those shows that if I get up to go to the bathroom, I don't bother pausing it. I think the acting and dialogue are terrible and it's very cliché and unrealistic. To each his own I guess. I would much rather watch The Expanse series for the fifth time, which is the best thing Amazon has ever put out as far as I am concerned.

I watched the first two seasons, and will binge the third after all episodes drop. I know this is sacrilege, but I enjoyed the Tom Cruise Reacher movies, more than the new Reacher. I never read the books, so I didn't have a visual on Reacher, didn't know that he's a hulk, so Tom Cruise was fine with me.

I like the Tom Cruise Reacher movies even if he is not built how I pictured Reacher.

I liked both seasons....don't bother examining the acting(can't be that bad if on a major network), accuracies etc. If it entertains me, I am fine with it. What tv shows are realistic anyway....Big Brother, Housewives of Wherever, Chicago PD Med etc, etc etc? Guess some of you guys don't like adult entertainment either....terrible acting and certainly not realistic (for most of us anyway).

Guess I am in a minority as enjoying the show and the actor playing Reacher. Great entertainment and do not care about realism on this one

I never read the books. I liked the video version of season 2. Season 3 seems OK, but is sort of repetitious. I will continue to watch it, but I will probably give it a B rating. As to his acting, I don't think that it is that bad. He plays the strong, silent type well and has a dose of humor in his lines. He is ,sort of, like Clint Eastwood with pumped up muscles. I noticed that he doesn't run well. There seems to be a double doing the running scenes. Has anyone else noticed this? Of course when he has his shirt and pants off he looks like he could run fast with ALL those muscles. Maybe he had some football injury in college ....or something. I am just guessing and maybe someone else knows the answer to the question. Does he need a double to do his running?

I agree. The Expanse was in a class by itself. I read all the books. They were all well written. I have not read any Reacher books, but from the comments they are probably NOT as good as the Expanse series books. So mediocre books become mediocre films.

We are enjoying the series immensely; escapist action entertainment and the humor is fun.
It doesn't hurt that the Reacher's ripped bod is absolutely drool-worthy. LOL
Haven't seen the movies or read the books.

Awesome show from great book series. Alan Ritchson was at the recent Daytona 500 driving the starter car. I was there. And there was an arm wrestling exhibit featuring the show.

I’m watching but almost stopped. Was bored so put it back on. I’m usually fine suspending my expectation for action to be realistic. But leaving the bedroom window wide open every time he sneaks out? It bothers me. Also not sure what stupid accent Duffy is trying to fake but it’s annoying. Edit to add: looked it up and it’s supposed to be a Boston accent. Pathetic. I say this as a Bostonian.

I noticed that open window also. Any guard on the property would have been suspicious of it. You have to suspend belief in movies like this. Just enjoy the action and the sly humor.

Have not seen any guards at that big estate except for at the entrance to it.
The house is guarded inside.
I wonder what that estate actually is?

The fact the window opens out is glaring. Any car pulling in would notice it. I’m willing to bet it causes him a problem in a future episode. It almost seems like they did it purposefully.
The estate is called the Encarpment House in Ontario.

The book has various differences from the series.
I would suggest that the series has little or no consistency with the Reacher books, other than the lead character is fairly large.
Then again, if you've only read the recent Reacher books, written by Jim Grant's brother ... the original "Reacher" is no more.
I don't think Reacher had sex for over 20 years, until Andrew took over the writing.

Actors and actresses opinions on things do not matter that much to me when in the context of their talking about current events. Behavior like crimes against women by them concerns me deeply. Especially if they have been convicted of these crimes. Or, if the evidence is overwhelming.

There was a time when I bought the newest Reacher book as soon as it was released. The first three or four books were pretty good, but then they all became all the same. Why is it that every town Reacher visits (with only his toothbrush and the clothes on his back) has a secret involving a murder? And how come there is always a group of bullies that ache to be beaten up by Reacher, and they always fight him one loser at a time; never as a group? And of course one or more of them get a broken bone of some sort. Unfortunately the TV series is pretty much the same. I'll watch the first episode this afternoon, and I hope I'm pleasantly surprised.

Don't rush. It's as disappointing as the last 5-6 ... or whenever Andrew Grant took over the writing.
