I just received a golf survey. It had a couple of interesting questions.

1. If you could play any golf course in the world, what would it be?

2. If you could play any golf hole in the world, what would it be?

The course I would most like to play (but never will) is Augusta of course. Would anyone give a different answer?

The greatest course that I have actually played is Cypress Point.

My favorite individual holes (that I have played) are:

#16 Cypress Point
#17 TPC Sawgrass
#7 Pebble Beach

How did you do at #17 at TPC?

I played 17 at a course that had a number of replica holes - same yardage, water hazards, etc. (but clearly not the same). Put the first shot over but put the second was on the green.

I can’t imagine how many balls I would lose at the real hole. I would probably run out of water balls!!

Would love to play Augusta, husband already played thanks to Billy Joe Patton, a member and famous golfer back in his day ( amateur who ALMOST won Masters)
. Blue monster (Doral), Peeble Beach, Sawgrass, Pinehurst #2, and PGA National all tied for favorite but home course in NC, Mimosa Hills (Donald Ross) most fun. Favorite hole, Pebble Beach #8, cliff shot, awesome

Lots of people would agree with that one. Certainly the most scenic. I was in the south of Ireland last year but decided not to pay the 400 euros/round. Probably should have.

You can get three types of days there:
1) beautiful, sunny,
2) foggy, can't see the fairway
3) rainy and windy. . .

We got a #1 day, the day after a #2 day

I probably will never play it again, just due to cost and want to go to other parts of the world to travel and golf.

Next on the list is New Zealand's Cape Kidnappers, similar views

Totally agree……best and most scenic and most memorable I have ever played. (22 years ago)
Augusta would be the one most desired to play.
As for favorite hole I want to play……Augusta 12

COURSE: Threetops par 3 in Galord Michigan. Definitely a bucket list destination.

Hole: #7 on Threetops has about a 100 foot drop from tee to green.

Almost all the courses listed here CAN be played, just get there and pay the money. The one that I will probably never be able to play and most on this thread can’t is Augusta National.

I did play Turnberry on the western coast of Scotland (Nicklaus and Watson duel) , the Pebble Beach of Scotland. Also played Plantation Course at Kapalua a few times.

Favorite hole was the 12th at Manale Golf on Lanai

Of course Augusta National would be on top of courses I would like to play. The course I would want to play again just for the beauty of the course would be Quivira in Cabo. Just some stunning holes on the cliffs overlooking the Pacific. A few gimmicky holes but every hole has a view on the ocean and the best comfort stations in golf. Pebble Beach is a better course but Quivira is much more beautiful.

I had the great luck to play at Winged Foot in Westchester County, NY back in 1988. I really couldn't fully appreciate it, since I was not a very good player then (only a little better now...). I remember, when I took a sizable divot on the 1st fairway, I replaced the divot and noticed the grass and soil were more like what you find on a typical green. Every fairway was very similar to that. Impressive!

I was lucky enough to play Augusta three time.........

Once with Arnie, once with Jack and once with Tiger. Each round better than the last. But, they all ended in the same way..... I woke up!

Son and I played Pebble Beach a few years ago. Very tough course with the small very fast greens. Loved every hole but 7, 8 and 18 were my favorites.

Excellent choice of courses. Please make sure to play CK's sister course Kuari Cliffs a little up the coast from there. That is the most beautiful course that I've played. Kidnappers is a brute, Kuari is a beautiful siren.
I've walked Augusta at the tournament but would love to play it. My favorite hole has to be no. 8 at Pebble. My birdie there is a wonderful memory.
