I heard a rumor that the Streetrod store is closing. I haven't had 1 in years, Debbie was there, but they are fun carts. Hopefully just a rumor.

Would not be surprised if this was true as there are a lot more golf cart stores that have opened in recent years. I don't think Streetrod offers a lithium battery cart.

I just called the store. Yes, they are closing tomorrow and moving all to Iowa. The reason given is the cost of insurance. They are sending me a list of three people to service my cart. The carts are made in Iowa.

I am sorry, but I did not get the list. Maybe the Streetrod Clubwould have information, or call factory in Iowa. Sorry, I have nothing to share.

I've owned a streetrod cart and enjoyed having it. I knew when a car dealer bought them out just a few years back that it would be just a matter of time until they would be priced out of sight. They doubled the prices of accessories and the new carts hit 30 grand + with taxes. Everything has a limit and They reached it in my opinion.

I used to see a lot more Street Rods in The Villages than now. I would enjoy just looking at them.

Their value may go up in the future because of no new ones available.

Cost of insurance? Sounds fishy. Do not know the $$ costs but suspect that they do sell a lot more carts here than in Iowa. Shipping costs for buyers are going up.
