Before moving here four years ago, the Talk of the Villages Club pages were very useful in helping me decide what to explore. I printed out a notebook of about a hundred interesting clubs. (Go to the top of this page, click on Entertainment, then drag down to. clubs and search.)

However, more and more of the information is outdated. I’m very active in music jams here. Yesterday I searched under “Music” and found listings for some clubs of concerts that occurred TEN YEARS AGO. There are leader names and numbers for people now dead. There are clubs that no longer meet. There are clubs that meet at different times now than listed. I play weekly at two bluegrass jams (Aviary on Sunday at 6.00 and Bradenton on Tuesday at 7.00) that aren’t even listed. How are new villagers supposed to find out about them?

If you are in charge of a club, please check to see if your club info is up to date. This only takes a few minutes. If your club isn’t listed, list it. If it no longer meets, say so.

It would also be nice if some employees could go through the entire list and make sure it is accurate. I hear about there being over 3,000 clubs here, but where is there an accurate searchable list? So far as I know, this is the best, but it isn’t enough.

OP On occasion even the .districtgov list is not always accurate, but eventually new clubs are added on the site, but it does take some time to remove clubs that have disbanded. While TOTV offers insight on clubs, it would be hard to keep up with thousands of activities
