I enjoyed the singing and the acting but will need that do more research to understand some of the points of the storyline.

I very much so enjoyed the movie. Ive been a fan since the 60s, thought the movie was done well and like you say, the acting/singing was enjoyable.

Not sure which points you did not understand, could you elaborate? Thanks

Probably why the folk music organizers were so upset with Bob
Dylan's choice of songs sung and all the references to dirtying clean carpets?

I did see a book mentioned by Joan Baez about the conflicts between the two. It did seem the source for some of the biographical and autobiographical material.

When Dylan turns his back to traditional folk music, it struck me as a metaphor for the death of an innocent age.

He did seem to be abandoning the music and musicians that got him on the road to fame and fortune.
