I was told that this new club to watch movies was approved, but we are waiting for assignment to a Rec Center and Day, and time. Keep the faith-We'll be rolling movies soon, I'm sure.

Whichever rec. center the club is assigned, I hope it has a good sound system. Older movies typically lack captions, and some of us don't hear as well as we used to.

Hopefully a Bugs Bunny cartoon before the main feature? 🤞

When I first moved here two years ago, there was a Film Noir club that screened thrillers from the 1940s and 1950s once a month at the Savannah. Was well-attended, and I enjoyed the pre and post film lectures regarding each classic film. It appears that club has disbanded. Best of luck for this new club - As a huge classic film buff, I plan to check it out.

I once saw the family version of the Original Film, of the 1946 classic, It's a Wonderful Life.
Family version, because it belonged to Frank Capra and was being presented by Frank Capra, Jr who was kind enough to present it to our class at UNC, where he was the Director of Film Studies. It was one of those special times. He shared a lot of stories about various parts of that great movie, from his Dad's lens.

Too bad Robert Osborne of TCM won't be handling the introductions.
