We are being dropped by Progressive and received a quote from Loggerhead. Any experiences with Loggerhead?

If you have a financial advisor, have them check out this company on AM BEST, my understanding is that they currently do not have a rating. My concern is this is a new company, and they may not have the financial backing to withstand a major storm with lots of damage.

not going with them, looking at several others, but they are all high risk with a large widespread event. They might be able to provide 10% of expected, so most if not all companies will be a crap shoot at this point in time.

Best answer is to save up a bunch of money to be able to fix the repairs yourself, and hope you don't get by lightning at the same time. Better yet, with home insurance so unpredictable, lightning rods might just be the best insurance against the biggest isolated event here in FL

and then save up enough for a new roof to pay yourself, without waiting for insurance.

good luck, we all need it these days

In Florida, if a company is an admitted insuror state has a back up insurance called FIGA that would pay claims if the company goes belly up. Other category, surplus lines less protection. Purchaser's of insurance need to check this with their agent
