I wanted to share how well the new Brightline train works. The station is right at terminal C at Orlando airport. Both of our trains were on time to the minute. Everything new and clean. The ride was smoother than I expected compared to Amtrak Autotrain. There is a Premier coach and there were 4 other coaches. Stops at West Palm Beach, Ft Lauderdale, Aventura and Miami.

Would be wonderful to pick up car in Miami and continue south to Keys. How easy is it from Brightline station in Miami to get rental?

Thanks!!

The Fort Lauderdale BRIGHTLINE Train Station is Literally Walking Distance (across from the parking garage) from a Spectacular Hot Spot

As we recently relocated from Coral Springs we were Active Season members of The Broward Center of the Performing Arts and Slow Burn Theater in the same complex.

The Broward Center is built as a State of the Art Opera House that Books Off Broadway Hits w original cast members as well as an Array of Famous Bands.

Slow Burn Theater is the Amateur Troupe across the courtyard that Always has Amazing Top Quality Performances including some Breathtaking Dance Numbers.

AND they both have Sunday
Afternoon Matinee Shows

Brightline is supposed to be extended to Tampa. Too bad they don’t extend it to the Villages. Would be nice to take a train to the airport!

Wish it was closer to the villages. Worried about taking train with multiple parts for cruise leaving same day as travel.

We took the Brightline to Ft. Lauderdale for a cruise last fall. I agree about the comfort of the trip. The one problem I have is my limited mobility. Not that the train itself is not easy to board and ride but the station is a long way from where Villages shuttles drop off airport passengers. It's much easier if you can be dropped off at the station which has it's own entrance and address for car services.
Prices can be somewhat high for certain times of day. I've seen primier seating priced at $309 one way. Depending on whether or not you want to use seat selection, coach seats vary from $39 for some times to $89 for "smart" fares which allow seat selection. Getting to and from the port from the train station is not difficult especially if you use uber. Incidently first class seating included a coupon for $10 off your uber ride. All in all, we found it a comfortable and dependable way to travel to Ft. Lauderdale for a cruise.

We have had friends that used Brightline for a cruise out of Miami. Agree with everything stated thus far, however the wife was very concerned about sitting in one area and her luggage was in another area. At each stop she would go and stand near their luggage to ensure no one mistakenly took theirs.

Further note when getting to Terminal C you may have to use the escalator, lots of luggage could pose an issue. For an 8 day cruise and you’re not taking formal wear, thinking no issue. However, 14+ would be a problem for me.

All of the parking companies (off airport) , provide a shuttle service to the Brightline Station. That is different from Terminal C. At the Brightline Station you can take an elevator (instead of an escalator) if you have a lot of luggage. You can also check your bags (free for premier guests, and a charge for smart travel guests). As previously stated getting Uber from the Fr. Lauderdale station and back to it from the Cruise Ship has been easy for us. Just requesting one when we arrive. We usually take the 8:50 am train from Orlando and that gets us to the ship with plenty of time to spare. By the way we use Park n Fly to park (advance booking for them saves money too).

Thanks for all the good tips and information. As for the question about rental car locations near the Miami Brightline station. We used Avis which was about one half mile from the station.....walkable. The may well be closer options. Avis was very close to our hotel in Hollywood Beach which is why we chose it.

Took it in October. Train down to Miami was 25 minutes late, I believe the reason was to allow the northbound train to pass. The return train to Orlando was on time. Staff very helpful. We had suitcases that were checked bags on plane but didn’t need to pay for them on Train. Just put them at the end of our car. We took a shuttle to Miami airport that I believe was about $15 pp, pay on board and waiting right outside Train station. No reservation necessary.

Sign up for and watch for deals. Got a great deal on the ride going down, unfortunately same deal wasn’t available for return trip. Would definitely take it again. Very comfortable. Beats driving or flying because the flights I looked into involved long layovers.

I would worry that if a delay takes place for Brightline of a few hours could miss the ship.

3 & 1/2 hrs…we parked off site on Semoron Blvd / Park & Go. We were shuttled to the train station entrance. Due to mobility issues we chose not to walk terminal C.
