I am soon closing on a house in Water's Edge. Companies will quickly be offering their services and the costs can add up. I will be snowbirding at my property for a week in May, a couple weeks in July, the month of October and January through March in 2026.
Obviously, I will need to begin with someone to mow the lawn. Based on my schedule, which lawn care duties can I typically take care of?, which ones should I contract out for right away?, and which ones can I address on an as needed basis?
Thanks!

Not knowing Florida, I went with the companies used by the Villages the first year.
Here's a recent thread, a search will provide others.

Bug (pest control) services. The bugs these ponds draw and grown are insane. You'll want to start that right away. We use Fox. They are pretty decent.
As for lawn care. I was going to do my own. But then I noticed a neighbors lawn that doesn't do regular care. This St. Augustine is an aggressive grass and will grow over side walks and whatnot as well as up fences. You need a trimmer, an edger and a mower.
