I suspect your family may be unique. I recognize several of those behaviors in various family members.

Great commercials.

I would like to tell this guy that my parents were never like that nor my grandparents nor my great grandparents.

That’s because they were all in my family.

I'll be out somewhere and have the urge to say something, but most of the time I think of those commercials and stop myself. Most of the time, but not always.

We're the parents in those commercials. You're one generation (or more) off.

Most of the time is a welcome start.

I am pretty sure he would reply that it is a joke, to just laugh or smile and be happy.

I also have a hard time seeing those behaviors in myself. That's why I need a spouse to point out how odd I and my family are. Ask your spouse and they will point out your odd behaviors.

I mute all TV commercials so I'm not sure whether or not any of these apply to me.:D

Agree we are none of these either.

For others who are embarrassed they are, Just because a commercial portrays the behavior as a negative doesn’t mean it is. Just be yourselves.

Could be worse, you could be copying Will Farrell in those stupid, ridiculous Paypal commercials.

The Dr. Rick fellow does get on my nerves but not as much as the guy on the car dealership commercial that's yelling the whole time. I don't understand how that attracts people to their lot!
