I'm looking for recommendations for moving companies that will meet me at the Pods.com Ocala storage facility (or I can travel with them to Ocala),empty out my 8 foot storage pod and deliver the contents to my home in The Villages/Lady Lake. Apparently I have to be there to show my ID to the facility before we can empty out my pod.
Has anyone else does something similar?

I assume you want to do it that way to avoid the PODS delivery fee?
I have a great guy for you and I believe he lives in the Ocala area so that might save you a little bit since some, or all, movers here charge for travel time (that was new to me).
I had the POD delivered to my house and unloaded most it with a friend but, had a couple heavy pieces so had to hire for that. His name is Vincent, he works hard and smart and I learned some moving tricks from him.
This is his site: Furniture | Unique Quality Furniture (https://www.uqfurniture.com/)
He also buys and sells furniture.

But the OP might not wish to wait for two to three weeks for them to have a driver to deliver it.
Call The Village Movers - that’s what I did.

For what it’s worth it will not take near as long to unload the POD as it was to load it. I used U-Haul as their POD is much cheaper. Only took like an hour or less than two to unload a POD.

OP wouldn't have to wait that long. The trick is to learn what days of the week PODS delivers to the area of TV where you'll need delivery and book the most likely date you'll need as soon as you know, then change it, if needed. They have it structured that way for efficiency.
I was moving to Lady Lake and knew that the two days each week they deliver there are Tues and Sat. So, when my closing date was firm, I booked about 7 or 8 days prior to the Sat I wanted - no problem. Then, my plans changed slightly and about 5 days prior I adjusted the delivery date to the following Tues - also no problem.
But, OP only has an 8 foot container so, hiring one guy plus himself to fetch the contents from the warehouse, transport them and set
up makes sense.

Thanks all, I called The Village Movers and we're all booked. They do this with Pods a lot apparently.
