So, what’s your beef? This is the complaint department. What’s bothering you? We’d like to hear it. All complaints will be listened to and given due consideration. You might even get “I’ve been there” or “sorry to hear that,” or maybe even a “poor baby.”
The only rules are 1) no complaining about complainers, 2) no political complaints, 3) no complaining about TOTV, and 4) no complaining about the OP.
I’ll have mine in a little bit, but feel free to start us off.

My beef. All the EXPERTS here. It’s fine to give your opinion on matters and perhaps quote facts. But, I tend to dislike those who must provide a thesis. Believing that the more words used will equal impressing those who must read through pages of text. Personally I do not take my time to read through. Succinct is good. Just like me, now, ending.
Not quite yet. Another dislike are those who simply just must make a word or two statement or worse, just an emoji or such.
Now I’m done.

Why is so popular it entertaining! Not watch pitcher warmup for 5 mins after he already warmed up in bullpen. Not have watch manager popping out after every walk threatening change pitchers starting process all over.

Is there no such a thing as a no-turning-right-on-red sign in this area? I was driving north up 301 a few weeks ago and I’m in the middle of making a left turn onto college road, or one of the roads going east-west. I have a left-turn green light and am turning with other cars behind me making the same turn. There’s a car going the opposite way on 301 making a right turn on red. Although he’s not supposed to do that, I’ve come to expect it and I’m sort-of OK with it. What upset me is that as soon as he turned right, he pulled into the left lane right in front of me and I had to put on the breaks and almost hit him. There were cars behind me that had to stop too.
It just seems like many drivers can't handle turning right on red.

I do not get out much but it seems like there are more distracted drivers here in the Villages than other places I have been. Maybe because of all the activities the Villages offer. And the new things added.

Last night was part of a fundraiser for foster homes. Some of the players are MLB farm team, some have been drafted by MLB. So there is talent. But first base ump dressed like a ninja doing backflip is entertaining for kids and nice night out.
Merch is also sold as fundraising.Tickets can start at $45 but if you look at other games some go for hundreds.
We were visiting with Our oldest in Greenville SC. Apparently fair amount of Clemson and Furman staff and students went to the game.
As a fundraiser it’s entertaining. As baseball there’s no rules.
Kind of like going to see the globe trotters, but for a good cause.
So complaint still stands couldn’t get tickets for Bananas vs Party Animals fundraiser :(

I still chuckle when someone posts what you need to retire. I have never had more than $250,000 in investments or cash and live comfortably on $6000.00 a month in income. Take one big trip a year and one 2 day someplace on the water. Not a cruiser. Eat out once a week, play golf three times a week. One person posted I was just surviving.

I totally disagree with yielding to left turners if there's 2 lanes. The left turners are supposed to turn onto the left lane and right turners can safely turn onto the right lane at the same time. Otherwise you are causing unnecessary traffic delay.

Absolutely! People who gas up their car, and then go into the convenience store for 10 minutes without moving their car away from the pump. There was an empty car at the one diesel pump in the easy into lane, so I had to pull around the pumps to the other side after that lane opened up for me to pull through to, I filled a 25 gallon tank, and drove away before the woman even got back to her car, and blocked the entire lane, just getting lottery tickets. .
Gas up and then move away and park if you have to use the convenience store, instead of inconveniencing people who need to gas up and go by blocking one access lane to the pumps

After defending DeSantis Appliance & Air-conditioning 2 months ago, I've experienced how far they have fallen. I'm sorry I defended them on this platform. I was lied to repeatedly by their technicians. They were going to send the guy out to do a coil swap, that I told them I never wanted to see again. They wanted $1000 to replace a 4 year old coil that Air FX quoted me $700 to replace the same coil. There's more to the story but I'm trying to keep it short.

We dislike commercials so much we pay for the premium level of every streaming service we subscribe to just to avoid them, and if that’s not available we record a show to watch later, or don’t watch it at all. The worst are the drug commercials, so if there is a live event being televised where we can’t avoid the commercials I mute them, especially if they’re about drugs.

I have two. The first is people who don't tighten up at traffic lights, but leave a car length between themselves and the car in front of them. They are blocking people from getting into turn lanes.
Then there are people who dawdle along in the passing lane, forcing others to pass them in the slow lane. They belong in the slow lane.
Then the people who checkout groceries, lots of groceries and wait until the lady finishes bagging and gives them amount they owe.... then they start digging through their purse for their wallet. Really? You didn't think to be ready with your credit card?
Yeah I know, that's three. I have lots more <g>

I totally get this, but as a guy who spent his career "in the field" (aka NOT a cubicle-dweller) without an office or hallway bathroom handy and with an aging prostate, I am sympathetic to the contractor's need. Especially on hot days where one needs to constantly hydrate and in the newer areas where there are not many gas stations or public buildings to duck into.
Much prefer if they left it clean and not look like a herd of pigs just went through leaving mud and debris everywhere.

Left turner might be trying to get into the right lane to enter a business, like a gas station on the corner. Whatever lane you think they should turn into, green light has "go" while red light still means "STOP".

My general complaint is about people who don't follow the rules. They gain some advantage at the expense of those of us who do.
A corollary complaint is making up rules that aren't enforced. This encourages rule breaking and, if taken to the extreme, ultimately leads to anarchy.
A specific complaint within these general topics is people using the swimming pools without showering first. Yes, it is a rule! Why? Imagine all the chemicals and toxins that go in the water from those who don't bother showering first -- skin creams, sunscreens, hair gels, deodorants, after shave, perfumes ... and things you'd care not to think about.

People who park their grocery carts in the middle of the lane and then just stand there, blocking the path for the rest of us. Yesterday, I was at Sam's Club and a woman did that to me. When I tried to squeeze around her, she turned her cart so that I couldn't get through that way, either. When she realized what she did, she apologized and we both had a laugh.

Television Comercials. Well really can complain because we haven’t watched commercial television in over a decade because of them. Alright, we do watch jeapordy but record it and watch it later so we can speed through the commercials.
Television commercials where they jack up the volume. The Gob-O-Ment was suppose to stop that practice around 1970. I guess that the commercials were more important than what the citizens wanted.

I totally disagree with yielding to left turners if there's 2 lanes. The left turners are supposed to turn onto the left lane and right turners can safely turn onto the right lane at the same time. Otherwise you are causing unnecessary traffic delay.
Theoretically you are correct.
But if someone misjudges their lane, the person who had the greenlight is the winner. Right turn on red driver always has to plan around the greenlight driver.

The only thing you "learn" from commercials is what product the sponsor wants you to buy. They should not be considered anything remotely close to educational.

I agree. The product, "Balance of Nature", is advertised entirely by testimonials where people who use the product say they "feel better". But, apparently, that is enough to convince other people to buy it. That is the power of advertising.

I agree, but how do you know if your doctor has you on the best drug? Some doctors don't keep up with the latest treatments, or they are paid to recommend something else. Also, they often don't know when an expensive drug goes generic. My PCP told me that a different blood pressure drug would cost $300, but, in fact, it was only $3. Another example is "Gentle Cure" for skin cancer. It is advertised on TV, but I don't think many dermatologists even mention it because they don't offer it as an alternative to surgery.

Seriously?! You think a quick shower at a pool is going to remove all of that stuff from people’s hair and skin??! Nope!

Green light has the right of way; red light has to yield.
Right. Here's the way the law is written:
"The driver of a vehicle which is stopped at a clearly marked stop line, but if none, before entering the crosswalk on the near side of the intersection, or, if none then at the point nearest the intersecting roadway where the driver has a view of approaching traffic on the intersecting roadway before entering the intersection in obedience to a steady red signal may make a right turn, but shall yield the right-of-way to pedestrians and other traffic proceeding as directed by the signal at the intersection, except that municipal and county authorities may prohibit any such right turn against a steady red signal at any intersection, which prohibition shall be effective when a sign giving notice thereof is erected in a location visible to traffic approaching the intersection.
316.075.1.c.a Traffic control signal devices
Chapter 316 Section 075 - 2012 Florida Statutes - The Florida Senate (https://www.flsenate.gov/laws/statutes/2012/316.075)
That "as directed by the signal at the intersection" says it right there that if you are making a left turn you have the right of way and you don't have to stay in the left lane when you turn. You can turn left to the right lane. The "signal" doesn't say anything different.

Of course. UpNorth, our suburban real estate tax bill had a line item for Park District, Library, etc. It doesn't matter how often I don't go shoot hoops or don't check out books. The bill is the same. It's what keeps the community nice. Bonus: When you sell your home, other people want to live in that community.

LOL. Zero logic. It's okay that tennis is hard on the arm and knees (and same surface), but let's just ban PB bc you don't like the sound or the ball material? Ooookay. And ban golf bc YOU think open spaces is a better use of the property in spite of the fact that the vast majority of Villagers play golf. Again LOL.

I could complain about controversy except that can be the lifeblood of a forum. Now about knee injuries and arm injuries in the sports of tennis and pickleball. Tennis and pickleball may have some similarities like being played on similar surfaces (asphalt and sometimes wood, inside gyms). But, pickleball is harder on the knees and arms because of the DISTANCE differences caused by the smaller court of the pickleball game. In pickleball the ball gets to an opponent quicker so there is LESS time to react. Therefore, the knees and the arms must TWIST awkwardly OFTEN to hit the ball. Also, there is more lunging and DEEPER bending of the knees when trying to hit a ball that you have little time to track off of your opponents racket. With most shots in tennis, you have more time to get in a good comfortable (less injuries) position to hit it. In addition the sound of hitting a tennis ball is more satisfying!

I have s 2012 Yamaha electric. The YRDE model. I get two years max from the best most-expensive 6 lead-acit batteries. Plus I just bought a new engine for over $1k. I like the way it picks up and moves around. I hear the battery boys will replace it with a lithium-ion battery but that's pricey and I'm not sure I want to keep it much longer. I guess I could take the battery with me when I buy a new one.
For now though, it seems like I'm throwing good money after bad.

Drivers who block the entrance to the right- or left-hand turn lanes because they've stopped 30 feet behind the car in front of them at a red light. (Frequently they're on their phone.)
This is such a strange phenomenon here in Florida. I've seen it in the southeast of the state as well. People stop around a full car length away from the car in front of them, at red lights. It makes the lines appear SO insanely long. In Boynton Beach, that line can go all the way back to the previous traffic light, when it's rush hour during snowbird season.
Why does everyone do that? I mean okay, you don't want to sit bumper-to-bumper when it's hot and someone's car exhaust is rippling the air at your windshield. But 2-3 feet between cars should be reasonable enough, no?
That's a really neat complaint. I can wrap around it. It's not a big deal, but it can be frustrating when you're "just this close" to the left turn lane, and the people in front of you refuse to pull up so you can get into that lane.

The last time we went to outback was a few years ago and had a strange experience.
Ordered the burger and it was well done on one half and completely raw on the other. Apparently the person running the grill did not understand that food must be on the grill to cook.
They exchanged it and had to wait a substantial amount of time and was surprised they did not offer a dessert or anything as an apology.

Significant senior discounts have gone the way of the dinaseur, it seems.
I remember 50 years ago when I started downhill skiing, I noticed that the senior discount for lift tickets was enormous. I couldn't wait. However as I approached the age, it got less and less and today it hardly exists.
What was happening back then was, our parents/ grand-parents didn't ski. So of course they could offer a discount to people who never used their product. Then real skiers got older and became seniors, poof, the discount went away.

My knees never made it long enough to get a senior citizen skiing discount, all those dam ice moguls destroyed them. A good friend, who still has functional knees, gets an annual mid-week non-holiday ski pass that includes several Vermont ski areas for only $500. On the other hand, I played 18 holes at Southampton, MA last Wednesday with three of my northern golfing buddies, and we all got the mid-week $37 senior rate with a cart included. Up north there are substantial senior citizen golfing discounts midweek, usually before mid afternoon when the horn blows and the workers slide down the dinosaur tail and go play in the golf leagues. It’s amazing how empty many of the northern courses are midweek between about 9 AM to 2 PM, when seniors can get a great deal. Many places only offer the senior deals Monday through Thursday, non-holidays.
