It sometimes seems that there is seldom a boring day in the Villages. I like boring.
For details check the other news source. This might also be in The Villages Daily Sun.

Yep. Apparently when there is a court order to stay away from each other there is a valid reason for that order.

Guess it was not important enough to make it into the happy paper

It wasn't happy enough. If it casts a negative light on the Villages, they are less likely to print it there. Even if it's true.

Guess it was not important enough to make it into the happy paper The Daily Sun is a community newsletter- not a source of overall news. I would think that most people who have seen even one daily edition recognize this. They make no claims to offer anything other than feel-good stories, and no apologies for doing so.

Actually that is not totally true.
They have had extensive stories such as traffic deaths so they do on occasions act as journalists, just not very often.

I seem to recall they did cover another SWAT incident in which a man barricaded himself in his home with his frightened wife. That was about 2.5 years ago. The man gave up after a few hours. The one Thursday was probably 1500 feet from the one 2.5 years ago .

So, I guess the happiness of moving to the Villages does not solve the internal struggles in the home?

There seem to be more SWAT incidents in the Villages than I was aware of. Spread out a bit.

In last 10 years I only remember one other than this one. The other one was man forcing his lady friend in MB, sheriff was called and he took off barricading in another much old lady friend house I guess where he was staying. Swat and helicopters circled for hours and swat finally penetrated house with tear gas forcing him out. They ended up destroying garage door and couple windows.

There was the one in 2022 or so in the Villages of Bridgeport at Lake Miona Shores.

Another in 2025 involving a woman suspect .

Mostly ads....VERY little real news and politically biased. It makes so much trash to get rid of too so we don't subscribe.

The villages newspaper is a vehicle to promote the villages, not journalism. The people here are like people everywhere, some are just nutty, not much you can do.

Compared to places where I used to live the Villages is rather tame as far as domestic disputes and the like are concerned. My street in Reno, Nevada would have more serious police responses than in twenty years than the Villages except for automobile accidents. We have a lot of those.
Palm Harbor also had a lot of serious police events. I used to take care of a couple 's son and mother Westies Chuck and Heather and during one night when they were in town a bank robber had climbed on the roof of the house next door to them and thrown a pistol in the garden in Chuck and Heather 's house. At that time there was a helicopter shining a spotlight on the bank robber and police were in a street a block over.
The bank robber has picked a hell of a neighborhood to hide in as many law enforcement people had bought homes in that subdivision.
This was also close to Carwise Middle School in Palm Harbor. People were worried that some kid would find the weapon the bank robber had tossed aside.

That is very rare; we can’t show the negative part of TV. Check on-line for The Villages News, there are usually 2 or 3 reporting of negative actions within TV

Targeted at Villages residents and visitors, the Daily Sun fulfills it's purpose quite nicely.

What happened to journalism. I remember when who, what, when, where, and why was repeated in every course.
Now it is completely biased, and all commentary, not facts (not news).
And the internet. Snag you with a headline, and you have to read thru many paragraphs to get to any even simple facts (like where).
Keep it.
btw: WVLG is not much better.

And on Super Saturday they feel everyone needs one for the trash can. Sad that moving to the Villages does not make everyone happy.

Some are just nutty like EVERYWHERE...is correct.
We have an awful lot of focus on T.V.

The Villages does seem to have the attention of some groups of people around the world. And we do have residents from all over the world.
