I just bought a 2004 Yahama 48 volt, 6-8volt batteries. The headlights are sometimes very dim, other times they are normal. When dim, I checked the voltage at the light and it was 4volts. What should the voltage be, and where is the voltage reduced or tapped off, maybe 1 of the batteries. The voltage seems to be floating, that is not grounded so I am thinking maybe the wiring is tapped off 1 8 volt battery and running 6 volt bulbs. Please help anyone who knows. Thanks

OK, I think I need the 48 volt to 12 volt Reducer module. Anyone know where to get one or do you have one? Thanks

Chance are you have a bad ground. On an Electric cart you can't use a frame ground. All gounds need to be to the battery or ground terminal that is connected to the batteries. 12 volt bulbs running off of 2 eight volt batteries 16 volts will last quite a while. but I do recommend that a 48 to 12 volt reducer be used. It will eliminate killing the two batteries that would be used for 12 volts (16 volts).
