They did our road a few years ago and the surface started coming off after two weeks.
Of course, once some comes off it acts as an abrasive and accelerates the process.

Our Village was built in 2004-2005. Many road areas have highly exposed aggregate with piles of it laying in intersections. Also, all of the fire plug street markers are now nonexistent. We have called about when we will get a resurface but it is always the same reply, it is not on the schedule.
I have a strong feeling that Sumter County is ignoring the older villages from 20 years ago.

The mill and overlay road work listed in the link above is on District-owned roads and parking lots, not county-owned.
Sumter residents outside the Villages have been complaining about county road maintenance for many years.

When they did Biscayne Villas, it was summer and too hot for resurfacing. They left a big depression in the middle of an intersection, and totally paved over one of the drains in the middle of the street. Had to come back and fix that, but did nothing about the depression. Ducks float in it (I am not kidding). Their trucks left tire depressions throughout. It was a mess and still isn't right. I hope they've forgotten about us.

My understanding is that all the Villa roads are owned and maintained by The Villages/Districts. Sumter County is in the ignore mode to maintain their roads.
