Order a replacement door opener online from Door Openers and More. The original MVP ones are no longer made and Ro Mac doesn't sell a replacement. DC-MAG is their MVP 110925 compatible replacement and it uses regular batteries.

I like Chamberlin units, these are relatively easy to install, I have done several for neighbors, but it has now become a 2-person project for me. In any case these offer several versions, the belt drives are very quiet, and options include, WiFi control, battery backup, etc.

Lowe’s will install for about $185.00 when you purchased a Genie or other opener.

I installed the best Chamberlain garage door opener in my last house. It’s pretty easy to do by yourself. The opener was over $300 but it had WiFi and a battery backup so it would work if the power was off. My garage doors have to be with my other home automation objects so I can close/open or check the status of the garage doors from anywhere in the world

Lowe’s! Got a Wi-Fi 1.5 ton Geni opener installed for $450.00. Love it!
1.5 TON, I think something is wrong, this is way over the rating of the garage door hardware and springs.

Your right make that 1/2 ton which is what is considered what is needed for a two car garage.

Scott is the one to call.
I hate to say this but garage door service is one of those things were some companies rip people off all the time. They know you are stuck and will pretty much do anything to get your garage door fixed ASAP.
I often hear someone tell me their spring broke and they called XYZ company who came the same day and not only changed the springs but the door rails and cables and several other things at a huge cost. They also convinced them to pay extra for their "special heavy duty" springs. In my experience, I've never seen the need for the rails to be replaced unless they were damaged. This is why you need a reputable company and you have to be calm and careful.
For springs, use Ryan McCull. If you have other issues he can't address he will refer you to Scott. Between the two, you will get only what you need done at a fair price.
