The same reason they do things like this:

Why? Because people are not held accountable for their actions. The media is quick to report that someone was arrested, but they rarely report on the final result when they go to court. In this case, the guy caused $10,000 in damage, but he was released on a bond of $3,000. Go figure.

“A healthy adult bladder can typically hold about 500-600 ml of urine before the urge to urinate is triggered. However, the bladder can stretch to hold a larger volume, potentially up to 900-1500 ml, depending on individual size and factors like age. The urge to urinate usually occurs when the bladder has filled to about 200-350 ml.” (AI, Google)

That means the guy maybe urinated two cups. Look at the photo below of the cans of Spam with sheets of heavy paper between each layer. Furthermore, the Spam cans are in cardboard boxes and then wrapped in plastic! Chances are, not a single drop got inside the plastic, even if urine hit the plastic, and chances are, not a drop got on most of the plastic coverings on the pallets.

Doing that on pallets of food is disgusting, but does it all need to be tossed out? Did Sam’s Club REALLY toss it out, or did it just say it did so customers will feel safe. I’ve never eaten either Vienna Sausages or Spam, but if I liked them and you offered me the plastic covered boxes that had been peed on, I’d happily accept them for free and dunk them in a bucket of water and bleach to sterilize them. If they were on the pallet but not reached by the golden showers, I wouldn’t even rinse them.

Thanks Mando.
If you’re really worried, hose it off , pop the tin, and enjoy.
A pro-plant-based food advocate would say that the possible traces of mellow yellow are far less hazardous for your health than the mixture inside the can - check out a pig sty or a slaughterhouse video!!)
Then consider those starving and dying of hunger (15,000 so far today Worldometer - real time world statistics (https://www.worldometers.info/) - go to food data) That stack could feed thousands .
We don’t eat meat but if we were starving we’d eat it in a heartbeat.
You could dip a frankfurter in a toilet - I’d simply rinse it off and chomp in if it was all I had.
Your choice to stay in an entitled comfort zone ( you’ll likeky not enjoy the run up to starvation death) or stay on the top side of the ground instead of 6 feet under.
Every time you toss a plate full of leftovers into landfill think of a starving family that plate could feed.
Sadly, too many ‘authorities’ ban food establishments and grocery stores from distributing ‘expired’ food from distribution to those suffering the pain of starvation.

Expired food can kill you. Killing a person with food poisoning is not the good act you think it is.

If the food was still safe, the expiration date would be extended. Companies do not want to throw away profit.

Go ahead and start a movement to remove expiration dates on good. Once removed, it can be legally given away.

But when he publicly urinates in public on food, it's a total loss of control, not like a drunk driver that makes that choice.

Survivalists.

I doubt there are enough survivalists in TV to buy a couple of pallets worth of Spam, so somebody else must be buying.

Also , I'm guessing most survivalists are going for dried and canned beans, not Spam.

My mother has Alzheimer's or some kind of dementia. Years ago we had a Filipina homecare worker. I had purchased a Tagalog dictionary to dabble in a new language. Tagalog language - Wikipedia Tagalog language - Wikipedia (https://share.google/cNBjedR7wvJ1TGfGZ)

I had had it and maybe ten other thin books on a chair in one of the bedrooms I used as a computer room. I had gone in one morning to use the computer and reached for the Tagalog dictionary to look something up and discovered that it and the other books were all wet.

I have a small pooch but I figured he could not have got anywhere near that height and I had not had an angry girlfriend in a good while.

But my mother could get around the house still pretty good. Not so well now though as was in the year 2021.

She has done this on other places. I have learned not to sit down or lie down anywhere without feeling if it going to be dry.

The Filipina lady was amused by this when I told her probably because my pronunciation left a lot to be desired. She had an Alzheimer's patient who would eat anything within reach even things in her front yard so she had to keep a very wary eye on the lady she was watching.

We always buy the oldest expiration dates and have for well over a half century - sometimes we get what might be unsafe but it’s very rare -
We learned to love bananas near liquid.
We also love Florida in the summer ( less crowded for biking, shorter lines, and businesses are friendlier)and rarely use climate control unless guests and tenants want it. Personal comfort zones for those in the right mindset are adjustable.
You can hibernate in your AC car, home, and stores but ya gotta go outside eventually dontcha?
As my dad used to say when he lived outside the lines…..
“So Sue Me!”
