In considering a purchase from The Villages Golf Carts, was curious on others experience on having a cart purchased from them serviced there. They offer a loaner during the service time and give priority appointments to carts purchased there. Unlike some competitors, you must take the cart there versus them coming to you. Wondered what others experience has been with service at The Villages Golf carts, especially for those that purchased the carts there. Thanks.

Important heads up, TV golf carts Only service their sold products. There are zero appointments. You get in line and wait to see if your cart will be serviced. During high season you can be turned away multiple days. Personally more than once, have got in line at 5am with 6-8 carts ahead. Reading the newspaper with a coffee, or taking bets on if any of our carts will be serviced that day.

We have purchased 2 carts through TV and 2 from outside the bubble. We use a private cart guy who comes to the house, works on our carts, at 1/2 cost of TV. Once the Eastport store opens I have zero expectation you won’t be sitting in the same line like the rest of us with over 15-20 years of sitting in our cart experience

I was at Carts and Clubs this week south of Ocala on 301. Checking out a new Yamaha.

They had a lot of carts and can customize any way you want. If you need service they will come to your house. If they can't fix it there, they'll take it back to their shop and give you a loaner.

Not sure on prices compared to The Villages Golf Cars since I haven't been there.

Carts and Clubs sold to The Villages Golf over a year ago. (Owner wanted to retire and his kid(s) didn’t want the business. It’s not really mentioned when you are in the store. Too bad it was a great place to buy and customer service was important. Two of our carts (2010, 2016) came from C&C before the sale

Bought in 2020 and have had service annually with no issue getting in. Have always been able to get an appointment for routine things and immediate work when my battery died and had to be brought in off the golf course by trailer.

Our 2022 Yamaha has been great, and the one problem we had was handled with professionalism by Villages Golf Carts. Our clutch went south, and they took it in, gave us a loaner, and fixed the problem. It took a couple of months to get parts, but we had the loaner, so we didn’t care about the delay. Overall we were very happy with Villages Golf Carts.

I have made many appointments with the Sumter Landing and the Brownwood Villages Golf Cart service departments over the past seven years without a problem. Many times I called in the morning and got an afternoon appointment for a repair.
For my annual maintenance service I typically call one to two months ahead, drop off the cart before 8:00am, get a loaner and use it all day before returning sometime in the afternoon.

That is absolutely not true. I have always been able to make an appointment, drop my cart off or wait which is my choice. There is always a loaner available if I do t want to wait. I have NEVER had a problem making an appointment.

What? I have serviced my golf cart there for the past twelve years. Have had an appointment each time. I get a loaner and bring it back when they have completed their work. My cart runs great and the service cost has always been reasonably priced. I’d recommend them to anyone.

Gee, I have never sat in line and always have been able to get an appointment; for my annual service anyway. I do call several months ahead of time and roll right in. When I had my seats upgraded and seatbelts installed it was the same experience. I had an appointment and I drove in and got a loaner and returned when the cart was done. Easy. The only time I sat in line was when all the gas cart were recalled for acelerator issues. Even then, if onlly took a half hour of my time at Everglades and they had three lines to accomodate the large quanity of people they needed to service. I do have a service to rescue me if I break down "out on the road" or have a flat.

We purchased a two year old, that had been completely renewed including seats, suspension, and curtains for half the price of a new one at TV.

HOME | Wholesale Golf Carts (https://www.wholesalecarts.com/)

They come to the house once a year and pick up the Kart and service it the same day. If it needs more work, they bring you a loaner to swap out. None of this silly waiting in line, and none of this over priced stuff.

TV Golf Cars DOES take appointments! I've made several. You just have to plan ahead. I have an appointment this coming week. Have also made appointments for their annual Lifestyle Service.

That said, I have seen people drive up for 1st Come, First Served type maintenance.

I absolutely recommend them!

We have had nothing but good service through TV Golf Carts in Sumter. We make an appointment and they give us a loaner. We used them with our old cart that came with our home when we bought it with the same good service. We do have Kart Aide in the event our cart would need to be towed there which happened with our old cart.

Wouldn’t purchase a cart from anyplace other than The Villages store. Easy appointments and quality service. They only sell quality products. Sure, cost might be slightly higher but worth it for the post sale benefits like free loaner. As the old saying goes-you get what you pay for.

When we bought our golfcart from them brand new in 2002, we were told they would service it "for life". Not true. After it's 15 years old, they will no longer service your cart. They said they can't get Yamaha parts for carts over 15 years old, so sorry, we won't even do your yearly tuneup. We were extremely disappointed and if and when we need a new cart, we won't be buying it from them. We now have a guy come to our home for any fix or yearly service we need.

I just had my cart serviced this week at the Brownwood location. It was originally purchased there by the original owner but I bought it second hand. I called and got an appointment within a week. Dropped off in the morning (efficient out front process) and was given a free loaner. They did the maintenance and called me by 2pm in the afternoon when it was done. Quick, easy, and professional. The price didn’t seem unreasonable to me. No complaints.

Very expensive to buy your cart there but yes service is good when needed. I would buy just outside the villages. Lots of options and you’ll save a few thousand dollars. As far as service , if you don’t buy from the villages , there’s a few mobile services that come right to your home ……

That's not true at all. In fact I have an appointment with the facility in Spanish Springs for this Wednesday. And they have, in the past, serviced my father's Club Car (with an appointment I might add), which was purchased outside the bubble.

There are many happy customers, and also many who will never go back there - for other reasons than just being overpriced.

Always check the quality of any service work they perform. NEVER assume it was done right, properly, or professionally.
Make sure was oil actually added back into the engine after yearly maintenance. Look over their workmanship and check for sloppy work, missing parts, cart damage, etc. Go over a "refurbished" cart thoroughly before and right after purchase. Get every "promise" in writing, signed by a manager. Understand their loaners are the cheapest carts ever made, and often lack rain enclosures, barely go 17mph (if you are lucky), and ride like there is no suspension. If something is not working right, never accept the "they are all like that" excuse.

Outstanding service. Taking the cart your self, not an issue since you leave with a loaner.

Bought a Yamaha reconditioned and service either due to something not working right or regular yearly maintenance, a breeze.

Highly recommend.

Been using TV Golf Carts for 5 years now - never a problem. As many here have said, call & make an appointment - sometimes its a couple days out sometimes its next day. Get a loaner - play a round of golf - pick your cart up later. Easy-peasey. I go to the Spanish Springs location. One cart I bought from them - the other I did not - they service both carts no questions ever asked.

We bought our cart from The Villages golf cart in Sumter Landing 4 years ago. Never a problem with service. I make appointment, then go there and drop my card off and drive away with a loaner within 5 to 10 minutes. If they need to keep my car overnight, there’s no problem with keeping the loaner, I just bring it back the next day when I pick up my cart. I’ve always had good service and prices have been very fair.

I guess I should have clarified using in bubble service. The last time I used The Villages was 2015. At that time there were no appointments, just get in line. Brownwood was packed all the time, LSL was less wait, no waiting in SS. Magnolia was not even a glimmer. They will no longer service your cart after a certain age.

We had Carts and Clubs coming to the house, for their cart only, but wouldn’t touch the Villages cart.
Carts and Clubs recommended Cart fixer to do our service at house. Told us he was excellent.

We have used cart fixer since 2015, excellent service, repairs, and great prices. He also has a mobile service for dead batteries (just had that happen at EP.) upside he comes to your house quickly if an emergency. Downside multiple old guys will stop to chat him up, about their cart and what’s wrong for free info.

Give Michael a call, voicemail if busy but will call within an hour. (352)433-5411.

Take a pleasant drive south on Hwy 301 and go to Country Power in Webster. You'll get to see something of "old Florida" and a genuine bargain on a new Yamaha cart from a Yamaha dealer. Compare prices and you'll find that the savings will be in $thousands.

When you need service, Country Power will come to your house. For the first service at, I believe, 100 miles, the cart will be taken to Webster for a detailed inspection and service, as required by Yamaha. All subsequent services will be at your house (unless something is seriously wrong with your cart). You will arrange a definite time for the appointment at your house and will be much less inconvenienced than taking it to The Villages dealership, waiting in line, and hoping that you are lucky enough to get the work done that day.

An added bonus is that Country Power has its canvas side curtains/enclosures made locally. I've compared the one Country Power installed on my cart and find it superior to ones I've seen on other carts. It has better stitching, easy attach/detach snaps, a couple of additional zippers that allow multiple configurations, and a perfect fit. The only option not available when I purchased three years ago was self-cancelling turn signals. I expect those are now available.

What are you talking about?? You seem to be new to The Villages. Let me clue you in that in the last 20 years The Villages Golf Cart Stores have sold over 100 thousand golf carts, yes that is over100,000 carts. Over the past 12 years I have always gotten an appointment with the Sumter Villages Golf Cart Store. We have owned 4 different Yamaha carts. Always a loaner and in most cases the cart service or repair was finished the same day. With the number of customers they have they do an exceptional job with servicing at least 3-4 hundred carts a day in their service centers. Now you know.

I have yet to take my cart in for services or repair. I have all tools and equipment, So far I do all servicing and maintenance. My FI Yamaha G29 has 22K plus miles. So far items I had to replace. Belts, Battery, Spark plug, air filters, tie rod end, tires, secondary clutch. I don’t have quite tech so have easy access to engine compartment. Not really that difficult so far. I’m starting to get old so see what future looks like in 10 years?

All of our carts have came from Carts and Clubs. We’ve never had an issue with them coming to our home for maintenance; we agree on a date and time window and they’re there.

Love the free ride while being serviced.
