Are there any charging stations for EV golf carts in the Villages? Evolution carts claim they have a quick charge onboard battery charger. I found some new Evolution carts in stock at Boterocarts with low end battery (30-40 miles) for cheap, relatively speaking. This would handle my typical needs, but would like an option to extend if we ever head up to Spanish springs with the cart. Just bought a place in Desoto.
I prefer a gas, but the fumes bother my princess. After doing some initial research, Evolutions have a lot of features for way less than Yamaha gas carts. I understand that batteries have a shorter lifespan and the fire risks that seem to be a common thread in these discussions.
I know this question was asked a couple years ago, hoping things have changed.

The Developer of The Villages isn't dumb. I suspect they'll be charging stations somewhere in Eastport, but there aren't any in TV right now, that I know of.
Don't hold your breath trying to get 30-40 miles range, unless you have at least a 150 Amp battery.

Logistics and cost make golf cart charging stations unlikely. People wouldn’t pop in to charge their cart, they would park four hours while eating and drinking. The cost of providing an outlet and metering/billing hardware would be too high to support only a few carts charging each day. Plus, as difficult as it is to get drivers to park appropriately, it would be even worse if a number of spots were reserved for carts being charged.
I have put 42 miles on my cart once in a day and I had to work to do that. On other days, 22 miles is a lot. Even if I forget to charge one night I’m still not likely to put 30 miles on in one day. Edna’s to Spanish Springs is about 30mi round trip. I could make it and a decent sized battery in a newer cart should make it. The question becomes, do you really want to spend over an hour in the cart each way?

It's just a glorified extension cord with some safety parameters built in. It pluggs into to any 120v/20 amp outlet.
There's enough room left under the seat that you can turn the charger into an onboard type, so you just need an extension cord to plug it in.
No level 2 charging because the batteries just aren't big enough to warrant it, and the costs involved with making that type of charging and charge controller compatible with golf cart are high.

There used to be a mains socket in the Outback steakhouse parking lot near Rolling Acres Road, but I haven't been there for years so it may have gone
Also, BJ's had a lot of them in their golf cart parking bays - they worked for the first month but not since (and no-one inside seems to know that they even exist, so can't tell me who to contact)

There Tesla charging at Village hospital. Too bad it doesn’t have adapters to plug in golf carts?

I have an Evolution D5 Ranger, 4 Forward with the 160 aH battery. It does not charge quickly. I can't imagine being in the square long enough that it would make a difference unless I was eating dinner and watching the band all night.
We determined the downfall of the Evolution is that we can do 1 long ride in the morning, say from Eastport to Spanish Springs and back, and have maybe 25% left of charge but would not be able to make another long trip that same evening. Of course it all depends on how much time between but it's definitely not fast charging.

My EZ Go seems to recover about six miles of range for every hour of charging.

Sounds about right. The chargers are built to be able to run off of a 15 amp circuit. Mine draws about 10 amps and I see about a 5 miles per hour charging rate, a bit less than yours.

I don’t think there are charging stations for golf carts yet. Probably is best to have a friend in those areas that will allow you to charge if needed.
My advice is to get a bigger battery, at least 150, based on your needs description.
I have a 210 battery on our C2 and I can go anywhere from where we live in the Historic Side, Spanish Springs near the Orange Blossom Gardens Pool.
We have driven all the way to Middleton, Eastport multiple times and always come back with at least 30% left. No range issues whatsoever.
Good luck !!!

I know of no golf cart chargers in TV.
My EZGO lithium takes 4.5 hours to charge.
I have had my electric cart for three years and a 30-40 mile range would not enough for me as a golfer. 50 is the bare minimum IMO.

We chose to upgrade battery to 160 on our evolution which gets us around fine. You can plug in anywhere there is a 3 prong outlet. They do not charge quickly.

With the electric carts getting 40 to 80 miles per charge, why would we even need charging stations? Charge the night before and you are good to go for the day easily.
Even with new electric cart range improvements, are electric cart owners still nervous about walking home?

We have an electric Evolution with advertised 80-mile range; we figure 65 miles is "useable". Our gas cart has about a 220 miles range.
Neither cart has a seat my butt will endure for 65 or 220 miles.
The seat is the limiting factor for range--not the battery or fuel capacity.

Having a lithium cart myself, I’ve never come close to needing a charging station. I’ve never used more than 1/2 charge in a day and just plug it in when I get home. But I also couldn’t stand the fumes and the noise. Even in the quiet tec, it’s noisy.

Ask yourself this question instead - do you really want to sit in a cart that long? If I have to drive more than 30 minutes in the cart, I'm taking my car.
Also, there is a reason Chinese made Evolutions are cheaper than American made Yamahas. Good luck getting parts....
