I've had a number of SPORATIC high IRRIGATION use water bills. There is no leak since they are sporatic with intervening months of regular use. The last bill is the highest so: 4500 gallons. The irrigation box is set to water 3 zones for 5 minutes for the last 2 years, ruling out any individual spike.

I've read many posts of folks with similar situations unable to solve the problem. I am currently getting a run-around by CDS Utility Dept.

I believe the solution is to hire a reputable plumber who has dealt with this before. Does anyone know of one?

4,500 gallons of reclaimed irrigation water is relatively low usage. It will cost you about $14. A plumber will cost a lot more than that.

Don’t discount the possibility of a broken head. After that, consider the one-time forgiveness or pay for a new meter.

Note: They will *test* the meter by showing that it accurately measures water going through it but that is not the issue. You believe it is inaccurately measuring water that is *NOT* going through it. They have no way to test for that.

It’s rainy season shut it off see it usage drops to zero for month.
