Converting slides into photos

Can someone recommend someone who does this? I’m not sure where to start. Thanks.

If you are after a DIY solution, do an internet search, there are several products that convert slides to digital photos, pay attention to the resolution of the equipment. Also, there are adapters for conventional scanners that can convert slides to scanned images, however I do not recall these getting any good reviews.

I did my own conversion. Bought a Nikon slide scanner and did the conversion. Some slides were bent and warped and wouldn’t auto feed, but most of the slides from 60’s went through. Some slides lost all their color but Kodachrome scanned well.

What was the model/number of the Nikon slide scanner? How fast was it per slide? How many could you auto-feed at a time?

DIY works best for the cost. Plenty of machines on Amazon. It can be a little time consuming though.

I had a LOT of slides and didn't want to pay the price to get them done. So I set up my slide projector aimed toward a blank white wall, and put my camera on a tripod just above it. Then for several nights, I took a photo of the projected picture. And once I had it in digital format, I used photo editing programs to correct for color loss and cropping out unwanted things on the photo (like dust, scratches, etc).

The digital images aren't perfect, but it is great to remember the time when I took each photo and how young everyone was back then. Besides, the slide image isn't as good as it once was and the image probably wasn't all that great to begin with. But now I can reminisce of older times without going to all the trouble to set up a screen and slide projector.

And after backing up the digital images onto a couple of thumb drives, I was able to finally get rid of that screen, projector, and all those boxes of slides.
